New RovyVon

Manker?

Sorry! RovyVon

I find it really odd they used an XHP70 LED for the throw. They must be chasing high lumens but don’t understand that they would have achieved much better throw with a smaller LED in the larger reflector.
Nice looking light either way, just failed in implementation imho.

Interesting. Wonder what the difference is with the proprietary cells.

That must be quite a magnet to hold a 2x21700 light horizontally. Guessing this is over 300g with cells.

I like it  My wallet doesn’t

Would be nice to know the UI, though! Seems like RovyVon is “growing” in size

$389 is pretty expensive!

(With RovyVon, I was hoping for another keychain flashlight.)

Who else wishes Rovyvon would make a GT Nano style thrower?

Oh gosh, this is a hot mess. The price, size, and usefulness have all suffered for trying to do everything at once.

Rovyvon competes with Olight here. If I would be in the market for such a light, I’d choose the Marauder.

That light looks completely ridiculous and always appreciate it when a quality manufacturer tries something crazy. However, I can’t really see the appeal of it as anything other than a novelty.

It’s great that it works with standard cells. I doubt there’s anything special about the ‘proprietary’ cells apart from the button tops (edit: USB-C charging on the cells included with the Premium model) and I wonder whether the ‘Normal Battery mode’ artificially limits the performance, but that’s speculation based on nothing bu healthy cynicism.

USB-C and USB Power Delivery charging is an excellent feature in a light with cells of that capacity.

Everything else… meh. As others have already said it looks like it’s trying to do too much at once. The magnet, which should be pretty strong to support a light of that size, seems to be a divisive feature on BLF. The display looks like a seven-segment LCD and while I’ve never felt the need for a screen on a flashlight I think in this price range a more useful OLED display would be expected. I can’t quite work out the side lights - it looks like the Premium model has three 4700K emitters on one side, and three red or amber emitters on the other side in addition to two amber emitters on the front.
