Eveready Dolphin Pico. 50 lumens 1xAA

I bought this for $8 at Woolworths , it has a deep reflector and throws really well.

The packaging says 50 lumens but it feels like it’s a lot more.

The beam is focused to a tight hotspot a little spill, up close the spill looks a little funky but a bit further back it’s diffused better and more usable.

It feels like a real solid and durable light, I used my own of my own stainless clips on it as I didn’t like the one that come with it.

Not much of a review but I thought I’d share as I’m happy with it.

Woolworth? When did you buy an LED light from Woolworth?

Woolworths* is a one of the 2 biggest supermarket chains in Australia.

I bought it today.

Oh, different than the Woolworth in the US.

That’s neat. They don’t sell those here, but there’s a slightly bigger one that advertises 75 lumens and looks like it takes 2 or 4 AA’s.

I wonder do eneloops work fine in these?

I put an eneloop in it and it’s working fine, visually about the same output as the zinc (I think) battery that come with it.

There is multiple small versions of this light that I have found today while looking for one.

The 2 and 4 AA one you are talking about I got as well, I bought the 1 AA one online at some place to pick up in person and when I got there they gave me that one for $8 (usually $12) because the small one was out of stock. I didn’t want it but I kept it anyway to give away.

Here is the 2/4 AA one next to the 1 AA one.

The reflector of the 2/4AA one

This is the one I have, 1AA and 50 lumens.

Same body, 1AA but 30 lumens.

On the website for this one it said it was 1AA 30 lumens as above but when I went there it looks the same at first glance and is the same size and I think it looks better with the Eveready molded in to the plastic instead of a sticker but I don’t really like that it’s 2AAA.

Looks exactly like what I would expect to find at woolworths.

Are you game to try a 14500 in it?

Very cool - thanks for testing it out with the eneloops. I remember my grandma used to lug around the 6v battery version of this back in the day.

I’ll keep my eyes out for the Pico, but I may get a couple of the double aa versions for beater lights around the farm.
