Trouble with an FW21 pro

I purchased an FW21 pro from nealsgadgets but 8 days after it arrived it stopped working. I’ve checked the tail switch for and even tried other batteries with no success. Nealsgadgets still has not responded after 3 days so I might be stuck repairing it if I want it to work and the search feature on this page just kept throwing me to google, so my apologies if there is a post on repairing one of these already.

So far I have checked:
21700 battery sitting at 4.1 v. even used an 18650 in the included sleeve that works fine in my gt mini
switch has continuity.

Loosen head, then tighten tail cap very tight, then try again. Any better?

No success. Tried all manner of tightening and no dice I also checked continuity of the copper rings in the head, and the tail as well as through the barrel and theyre fine. whatever it is it’s in the pcb in the head and I can’t figure out how to take it apart because the lens cap seems stuck.

does the led even blink when u insert battery ? strange if there is continuity… strange it would stop working after 8 days like that…

No, nothing. and I can’t get into the light to check the soldering cuz the lens cap won’t come off.

New products regardless of where they are purchased have an implied warranty. You credit card or paypal will side with you every time. All you have to do is show them the emails you sent the seller and the lack of a response.

is the tail switch ring loose?

I submitted a dispute a week after I sent the email trying to get a response, so we’ll see what happens.

and everything is tight till switch all the way up to the head and apparently one’s cover cuz I can’t get that off

hm odd u cant get the lens off, is it so hard glued or what?

Idk, but even a vice didn’t help

I’ve heard removing the front bezel or something up front causing the LEDs to accidentally dedome at time so be cautious and I’d recommend doing a bit more research on how to do it.

mine comes off easyly , and has never de domed

i guess so because the tailcap is tight and doesn’t fall apart.

Nope, and it’s been nearly a month.

Finally managed to get in and, as I expected, the solder on the wire had got hot enough to allow the wire to disconnect from the board.

I did for about 2 days. damn thing failed in the same place twice…

The main LED board right? Take it out and verify that it’s fully flat. You might have to do some sanding if it’s not. Then put it back with a healthy dose of thermal paste. This along with setting your temperature limit lower on anduril might help.
