A very narrow TIR

Hey all,
Do you know where can I buy super narrow TIR lens, less than 5 deg, such as the lens that is used in the Fireflies T1R or the Acebeam E10?

Thanks

I want to see something like that on a Convoy S2+ or Wurkkos FC11

Unfortunately, I don't think it have enough space for such a big lens

I want it scaled down to fit. And I want 350 to 400 meters of throw.

Me too, but it physically not possible :(

please submit your resignation or you will be fired immediately.

A collimator will do. The small OTR i3 w/ WF2 and 4A driver does much more. I seem to remember I measured >470m.

But a small diameter TIR lens? Not sure. Try and tell us

Somebody somewhere has to be working on making a scaled down model. We don’t necessarily want extra power and heat. We need a few minutes of run time on Turbo.

That is not how physics works

I don’t believe the Acebeam L17 and the Manker MC13 and the ones mentioned above are all exactly the same size. TIR

Only used these models as an examples.
I am searching to buy a TIR with beam angle narrower than 5 deg for my own build so I don't care what are the lens dimensions

ledil iris 4 degrees, but it has to be xpe or similar size die, it is 38mm, there is also ledil seanna, that can do 1 degree with same smal die but it is huge like 150mm. and it is not just 1 lens, it is tir + Fresnel in one housing, iirc

you can also try aspheric lens they do make very narrow beams

Start with the LED. Make it smaller and brighter since that’s the key factor. Again, try and let us know.

Edit: YuvalS, sorry for thread hijacking. I’ll stop here.

That looks great, they even have an XML2 model :)
Ledil are not so "budget" Lenses, do you know any cheaper options?
I have used Yajiamei lenses in the past and fined them as good as Ledil while so much cheaper.

No problem I don't care as long as I find the lenses I need :)

The little tube in the TIR makes perfect sense to me. A few years ago I was fooling around with a 16 inch length of white 1 inch PVC pipe 7/8” or 22mm id. Just holding this on the end of a small tube light appears to be able to increase the throw. I have no way to measure or confirm this. And it’s not practical. A highly polished aluminum or other material would work a whole lot better. A one or two inch highly polished cylinder might show results.

2 degrees

3 degrees

Thank you

That 2 degree optic looks very similar to the one that’s in the Manker MK37. The beam profile the MK37 has with the SBT90.2 is less than ideal imo— small hotspot, huge corona, something which you typically see of reflectors that are too narrow/deep for their led. Seems like this type of optic would benefit greatly from a much smaller die.

I have 2 Osram Boost HX, maybe it is a good combination
