Sunrise/Sunset LED Lantern

Hi All,

I’m looking for a lantern type light that has sunrise/sunset modes for travelling (moreso for when the world is back to ‘less weird’).

There are lots of wired bedside sunrise alarm clock type things but I’m specifically looking for a rechargable and portable light.

So far I’ve found:

1) Casper Glow (same people who make the bed mattresses), $129, 280lm, wireless charging, 2700K CCT

2) IKEA Fnurra, £22, 3xAA, USB C rechargable, unknown brightness, unknown CCT.

PLEASE! Can anyone suggest any others? I wish the BLF LT1 had a sunrise mode, apparently this is too unreliable with the current hardware.

the Fnurra looks like it is warm white, and it is dimmable:

let us know how you like it Smile

Yeah it’s the first affordable sunrise/set lantern I’ve found.

I don’t expect it to be particularly bright on 3*AA and plastic body.

Phillips do a portable light called the “Hue Go”, however, sunrise/set only available with the hue bridge thing that needs plugging into a router. Total £110.

I have but no longer use, Phillips Hue

It worked, but has PWM… not ideal, but.. entertaining..

the sunset/sunrise works ok
I had it start on Red, and ramp up in brightness, then after 30 minutes, I had it turn on in bright daylight white, so I would actually wake up..

however, the latest version of the Phillips Hue application is no longer compatible with my original Hue Bridge. I can use secondary free apps, but they are not full featured unless I pay a fee.

the option you found is 10x less expensive than what I paid.

hope it works for your purposes, let us know

Update! I got an Ikea Fnurra, couple of thoughts:

1) Battery life not that good, but to be fair I’m comparing BLF LT1 (4*18650) with 3*AA… So that is understandable…

2) Charging (USB-C) is a bit odd- once the charging indicator extinguishes, the cells then take an additional ‘1000mah’ if I stick them in a stand alone charger….

3) CCT is very nice, about the same as the BLF LT1 on warmest tint ramp (?2700K?).

4) Lowest brightness setting much lower than I expected, perhaps 1 lumen!- Excellent!

5) ‘Sunset mode’ behaves differently to LT1- one can adjust the starting brightness on the Fnurra, it then remains at that brightness for most of the selected sunset timer (5 to 45 min) before ramping down quite quickly to off (c. 1 minute), no better or worse than LT1 sunset, just different. It’s reminiscent of a candle burning out, very relaxing.

6) Sunrise mode very nice, could do with being a little brighter to wake me up though!
