Output Levels, Runtime and UI
The Fenix TK16 V2.0 has 4 normal output levels + Turbo + Strobe:

  • Turbo: 3100 lm declared (measured 3180lm) - 2h40min
  • High: 1000 lm declared (measured 1100lm) - 2h50min
  • Med: 350 lm declared (measured 380 lm) - 8h20min
  • Low: 150 lm declared (measured 140 lm) - 19h10min
  • Eco: 30 lm declared (measured 30 lm) - 43h20min

The measured data are to be considered peak (taken within 30 seconds of switching on and with the battery fully charged) and all proved to be consistent with what was declared by the manufacturer.
The interface is very simple and completely manageable by the two tail switches:

  • Round switch acts as tactical switch for instant activation (Momentary On)
  • The oval switch is the functional switch and allows you to select the output level and access the instant strobe.

Power On / Off

  • Lightly press the tactical switch to silently and momentarily turn on the light, releasing it the light will turn off.
  • Press the tactical switch fully until it clicks to constantly turn on the light. With a further click the light will go out.

Selecting the output level

  • With the light on, click on the functional switch to cycle through the various levels as follows: Eco → Low → Medium → High → Turbo.
  • With the light on, press and hold the functional switch for 0.5 seconds to strobe, click the functional switch again to return to general mode.
  • With the light off, press the functional switch to strobe, releasing it the light will turn off.

Memory Mode
The light stores the last output level used with the exception of the strobe. At each restart, the previously used output of the general mode will be recalled.

Intelligent overheating protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat if used at Turbo power levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60 ° C or higher, the light will automatically dim to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 ° C, it will then allow the user to reselect the Turbo mode.

Low voltage warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to switch to a lower brightness level until it reaches the ECO level. When this happens in ECO output mode, the light flashes 3 times every 5 minutes to remind you to recharge or replace the battery timely.

The body and materials
The Fenix TK16 V2.0 is a powerful flashlight in the 21700 format capable of unleashing 3100 real lumens at the Turbo and maintaining 1000 constant lumens for a long time.

Despite its size, around 15cm, it is still quite light. Most of the weight derives from the high-performance 5000mAh 21700 battery with which the Fenix TK16 v2.0 is equipped.

The battery has built-in TypeC charging.

The body and tailcap are finely worked with a precise knurling that always guarantees an excellent grip. In the hand the flashlight gives a nice feeling of robustness.

The anodizing as well as the lettering are well done.

In the queue there is the double switch system that allows you to interact with the UI. The buttons are very responsive and easy to activate. I like the ability to have Momentary ON for both constant light and STROBE.

The optical part consists of the large and powerful Luminus SST70. The lens has an anti-reflective treatment and the parabola is smooth and mirror polished.

The satin stainless steel bezel is laced and protruding. Here there are 3 glass breaker balls made of tungsten steel.

The belt clip arrives already installed on the flashlight, has a good grip on clothes and is also quite rigid.

The threads are anodized so the physical lock-out of the interface is allowed. Both at the positive and negative pole we find a rigid and robust golden spring.

The Fenix TK16 V2.0 is water resistant according to the IP68 standard
