Help me pick a big light

You guys are turning me into a flashlight guy. Im looking for a big light. Ive narrowed it down to.
Acebeam x45
Thrunite TN36
Olight marauder 2
Manker Mk34 II
Brinyte SR8
Are there others I should be looking at for a monster light?

Mateminco MT90 Plus Luminus SBT90.2 7500lm 3162 Meters Super Powerful Long Range Led Flashlight
.
.

Thats not in the same class or price range of the lights I listed.

I have the Acebeam X45 II, I love it, but I’d like it more with an up to date UI. I’m also looking at the Manker Mk34 II, Astrolux MF01S, Haikelite MT09R and Lumintop GT3, aswell as othera but its still always a hard choice.

Well what price range are you looking at and what do you want said light to achieve?

Chicken D asks a very good question in the post above.

Also, I both have and like X45, MF05, MT90, 2 x X65, 2 x HK90, MS18, R90TS, K75, D18 W2, MS06 and 2 x BLF GT94. My favorite is BLF GT94. I got two of them. GT94 has both a very, very exciting beam profile and beam performance.

Recommended by those in the know, but I don't have yet: X70.

There are more than a few others. In the past few years, I have build my own lengthy database of big lights. I have organized the list by throw and also by lumens.

King of led throwers: MF05/MT90.

King of power flooders: MS18.

King of power throwers: R90TS and BLF GT94.

There are many others.

the lights I listed are sub $400. Wanting more spot than flood.

I went with the Acebeam x45. but I may buy others.

I have a Convoy C8 with green 1mm² Osram emitter that easily outthrows my Thrunite TN32.
You can have it for $399.99.

Umm 4 BIG non throwy LEDs. I thought you said you want spot/throw not flood. That Acebeam with what is it 18,000 lumens sounds very much like a large flooder.

That is not factual. This is what I wrote

“sub $400. Wanting more spot than flood.”

I picked the acebeam X45 up (including batteries) for less than $190. With a max throw of nearly 600 meters, It will fit my needs nicely.

Yet I’d still say that particular light is still more flood than spot……

But as long as you are happy.

I’d agree chicken D, the lights in OP are almost all multi emitter, and for the sub400$ range there are some amazing throwers that still have really nice spill. I would’ve had my eye on the Haikelite hk 90, ace beam X65 (2/3 the lumens and 2x the throw…)

But, I’m sure the OP will love that light, it’ll be a beast im sure :+1:

But for less than$190, I think its was a good deal. I expect I will buy others.

I think you are definitely right, for that price point it will be awesome.

I have an Imalent MS18 and even though I’ve heard people say they don’t like it, the power is just incredible.

I’d def recommend the Firefoxes FF5 HID light. Truly awesome

Do you have the FF HID light? That is like my one “wishlist” expensive light that I haven’t been able to buy yet. I mean there are many I want, but that one just seems great. I’ve heard the tint is nice and the specs are amazing.

How is the bulb life? Does it go out easily?

Oh ya dude I love it so much. I took it out to a park at night a few months ago and climbed up a hill maybe 100 feet. Pitch dark - no moon. When I turned it on (I have the 4300K) it shot this massive beam like 20 in diameter for easily a mile

I’ve heard that the bulbs last a long time. The trick is not to cycle it like you’d do with an LED. so if I go out for a walk I just leave it on low and flick it to high when I want to have some fun

The other really cool thing is it doesn’t seem to get hot at all no matter how long I have it on.
I’ve had it on continuously for like a 30 to 45 minutes

Cuts through fog and rain great too!

Oh my god man, so yea what you just said convinced me that i have to save up to buy that thing! How it doesn’t get hot, cuts through fog and rain, that is awesome. And i knew the tints were good but i had no idea it came in 4300k! that is amazing. A mile beam! sounds like a blast. Good to know about the bulb life and not cycling it hard makes it last, my biggest hesitation with that guy was i thought the bulbs would blow if the light was dropped on the ground or something. Such a cool technology for flashlights. I wonder if that tech would catch on with smaller lights. or if it is even possible in a small form factor? Way cooler then the LEP thing, for me at least.

Oh yeah and I can melt stuff and light paper on fire from up close with it too (:

I’d love a smaller version - great idea. And maybe a much larger version too. It’s really not too bulky and the weight isn’t bad at all. I actually use the shoulder strap from my MS18 when I’m carrying the FF5
