16650 in 2021?

How is the 16650 cell doing in 2021? Are there any good options other than the Keeppower sold at illumn and malkoff? I have a like-new E2D with LF drop in just begging to get carried but I don’t like burning CR123 cells needlessly. LF recommends and unprotected cell, and the drop is does, supposedly, have LVP. Any good options out there? I typically go to illumn for mmy li-ion cells, but they only have the Keeppower and some low capacity IMR cells.

I bought some Sanyo in an AliExpress store (as these, tested by HKJ).
Vapcell has recently released new cells on this format: https://budgetlightforum.com/node/75358 .
You can also find some, more expensive, on darksucks.com (Prometheus and FourSevens maker/seller): https://darksucks.com/products/foursevens-16650?_pos=1&_sid=9c779e57d&_ss=r .

He has one of the lights I wanna buy sometime soon (?) which is the Quark QK16L MK III.

Yeah, the mkiii with the 90cri 319 looks nice. Wish it was a little warmer, though.

The regular version is 5000K but the blue state version is 4000K . I guess that is a limited version: https://darksucks.com/products/quark-qk16l-mkiii-slate-blue-16650

BTW, the only 16650 light I have is a “combo” of the On The Road M1 (tube/tail) & i3 (tube/head).
I am using the Sanyo batteries there!
Adding one of these 47s light would be nice so I’ll keep an eye on it Wink

Ahh, I see! Maybe I should flip one of my Surefires and scoop that up. Then again, I would have to flip one of my Surefires….

Does any brand stand out as having the most reliable LVP board?
