Outside, my SD05 OP 50.2 6000k is OK. Thought maybe behind a 45 or 60 degree TIR, the 01 50.2 wouldn’t be bad. Hard to find large ones.

Shoot, forgot bout the SD05 - I got one too. That center dot thing happens in reflectors too, but sometimes purple, sometimes yellow - weird. Again, wonder if it's the tint or maybe focusing... Haven't played around with it enough.

What kind of tool do you use for the ring around the switch? I don’t want to scratch it. Thanks in advance!

The ring is SS so hard to scratch. But I do use a pair of needlenose that are curved on the outside so usually fit the ring notches pretty well (can’t find a pic of mine). For the BLF Q8’s I actually made a tool out of plexiglass material – it’s a perfect fit and no scratching.

Go slow and careful though – think the SS ones can still scratch if mis-handled.

Thanks for the help! I made a nasty tool out of aluminum pipe, and it worked.

Nice! Think someone at work printed me a 3D tool as well, but with so many different lights and switch sizes, 3D printing is not a good option for me unless it's super easy and fast.

Tom, did you you see vietnamreviews EA01 disassemble video? The forward side of the driver was also covered with clay. Maybe for potting? I was wondering if it could be the source of the current leakage?

It's a weird one, close coworker tested positive, couple days ahead of me, 102 temps for 9 days, lungs issues now, 3 PCR tests all negative. CT scan showed covid damage in lungs. So many classic symptoms but no positive test. Also pneumonia. Oxygen stayed above 90 though, and did not lose taste.

Covid lookalike or weird undetected strain?

Hope your hanging in there Tom, and definitely dose an antibiotic. I think with some of this Covid stuff, they can do some good. Especially for the lung infection. take care and get well soon man!

I had something like that last summer. 24 hours after taking the antibiotic I improved. My guess was Lyme but never saw any sign of tick or bite.

Delays the vax for me. Was scheduled past Monday, now probably least 2 weeks. Whole thing was awful timing.

Whatever I had last summer made me lose 10 lbs in less than a week but it found me again. Anyway, good to hear you are getting better.

Great news Tom… Yeah I just got pfizer shot #2 on Tuesday. I had absolutely no side effect all from either 1 or 2. Maybe just a hint of a light bruise sensation on my shoulder but that only lasted a few hours and only the night of. Nothing else to report at all.

Shot #1 I got at a local community center. 1:15 hour line that circled around an adjacent park, about additional 25 minutes to administer the shot and screen for side effects on site. Limited parking. I had to park in an adjacent neighborhood and walk a couple blocks… shrug, beggars can’t be choosers.

Shot #2 was at my local football stadium. WELL staffed, zero line… I literally just walked in after staff member checked my paperwork. ~35 minutes for everything. Not sure if you have a choice, but IMHO sports arenas seem to be much better at handling large crowds and parking.

Good luck and get well soon!!
[EDIT] Tom E if this is too far off topic for your thread, just let me know and I will edit this post. Good Luck though, hoping for the best for you

Thanks. I thought I'd be ready for work tomorrow, but head in a fog, nausea still goes on. Guess it will take time

Hope you feel better soon Tom E.

Can an owner of these lights take a caliper measurement of the body tube diameter? Specifically the texture grip area across the mid section.

I am leaning towards the XHP50.2, 6500K. How is the color tint of the XHP50.2 when driven around ~1000 OTF lumens in a constant-ON scenario? How green/yellow does it get?

I received my gray SST 5000K today. There are no questions about the quality of the case and assembly. Slightly disappointed with the quality of the light. Maybe I’m just spoiled with similar optics on the Manker MC-13 with osram. I’m not used to seeing artifacts in orbit around the sunspot. I thought illumination will be smoother … SST-40 is seriously green at low levels … In general, I still don’t understand if I like it or not. Sad
Anduril is peculiar. For example, you cannot configure thermal control after 10 clicks (via technical mode). I will check the parasitic leak later, but this is not very important, it makes sense to unscrew the lid anyway. A few millimeters are enough.

Is this light using anduril 2? Otherwise anduril 1 should have the thermal config after 4 clicks iirc

Wow, I love the beam and tint, hhmmmm. Saw someone else post about how they liked the beam of this optic and was think'n the same thing. I got lots of multi-LED SST-40's and XHP50.2's way brighter, but this light for me hits the spot with a nice clean spot, not crazy heat, and I'm not noticing the green I guess. I'm using the Vapcell T50 with this light and it's outstanding. Granted, it's not the good SST-20 3500K quality, but for a 5000K, it's better than other 5000K LED's I got.

For me, the 351D 4000K sliced, XPL-HI V2 5D, and the good SST-20 3500K are about the best.

Of course I got Anduril 2 loaded, fully calibrated for temp and voltage.

Isn’t 50T too much for a direct drive SST? I think this is exactly the option: you even connect a nuclear power plant, anyway, a diode greater than 9A will not accept …

Dunno off hand, it works well for me. Think I measured in the ~9 amp range and got a good reflow, good MX-4 grease, etc.

I just glow for a while after turbo smile A Vapcell T50 is supposedly a Samsung 50S.
