Welcome. Smart of you to go for the good stuff right away and save buying a lot of junk you won’t use in the future.
Oh, I’ve bought plenty of junk. I’m a “spend my money at harbor freight before I realize I should have put it on quality in the first place” type of guy.
With that being said, there is a place for harbor freight. You just got to know when it pays and when it doesn’t.
I have noticed an uptick in Harbor Freight quality since the early years. And don’t get me wrong, there are some very good budget lights. All of mine are what I would consider budget lights. $50 tops pretty much. I just have a collection of seldom used lights I wish I had held off on.
Some are better some are worse. Their drill presses used to be pretty nice when they came out of Taiwan. I think the quality has gone down on them.
Yeah, I have one sitting on the bench my son managed to bend the arbor when he was a kid.
The oscillating multi tool is great for the price and I wonder how I ever lived with out one.
