What is this thing oozing out of the VapCell S4+ Charger?
I have noticed something is oozing out of all 4 slots of my VapCell S4+ Charger.
It is coming between the metal piece and the plastic case.
Has anyone seen this before?
20C ambient temperature, cells only around 27C temperature.
First time I used the charger, I noticed it while I was pulling out a cell and the cell has this white thing on it towards the top of the cell.
That is only after 12minutes of charging.
Probably. Not personally familiar with that charger but doubt 2 screws would hold it together. My chargers have 4 corner screws.
Hopefully someone with the charger will weigh in.
If it’s white and pasty, I’d also guess it’s thermal paste. Battery ooze would not look like that and the likelihood of getting it on 4 slots from batteries would be very low.
Dropped something in the middle of one of the slots of mine, so I already took it apart. Can confirm a total of 6 screws. 2 exposed, and 4 in the corners, underneath the feet. Besides the hidden screws, no other surprises in disassembly!

That is good to know for sure.
The rubber feet then will not stay on anymore once I take them off ? At least this is what I imagine.
Or what did you do after with the rubber feet?
Double sided sticky tape.
Contact cement if you want more durable adhesion.
You can also get replacement feet of various sorts in the hardware store, sticky back with good adhesion.
The white viscous liquid is silica gel, which increases heat conduction, similar to CPU heat conduction liquid, making the temperature sensor display more accurate

So, my new Vapcell S4 Plus charger (ordered from Banggood) arrived today. It is the latest revision 2020. I can confirm that mine oozes this white stuff, too.
Maybe I am going to set up a separate thread to collect some ideas and help Vapcell improving their popular S4 Plus charger according to BLF users feedback. I have just received my S4 Plus charger in order to check if there’s any room left for further improvement/enhancement. An 8-bay version would be nice, too.
Might be thermal paste to couple the metal strips to the temperature sensor. Shouldn’t ooze out, though.

Wow, I thought this may be my last charger. Thanks for shattering my dream.
I guess I will wipe it off until it oozes no more and it should be fine.
How hard to take the back off and look?

How many screws are there? I guess only 2 are visible and 4 others are under the rubber feet?

My vapcell S4 plus charger has two visible screws in the rear middle, and the upper little rubber foot has a screw under it.
Because I like big lights, my flashlightical views lean heavily toward both the extreme bright and the extreme heft.

Don’t let it get on your hand, else someone’ll have to take an axe to it and chop it off.

Its like a scene from the original Frankenstein movie.
THE S4 PLUS IS A GODDAMN ROBOT !!!
Watch out if it starts to indicate "special order 937" on its display.
Or if the words “HELP ME!” appeared on the display.
That is good to know for sure.

I think it’s a t-1000 pulling himself back together. Or it could be a pod trying to make a clone. Or The Fly regurgitating lunch
never fear shadows…it means a light shines nearby

Please wipe off the excess liquid
It can be used normally

Someone at Vapecell is gonna get an ass whipping from management.
I guess we will just have to wipe it off, that is what I have done so far.
Good to know that it’s there for a purpose. Maybe too much was applied? Once you wipe it off, does it come back again?
I’d rather use my flashlight around the house than turn on the lights.
Dear Vapcell-Dennis,
I am very Content with my S4plus, but is there a possibility to Switch of the battery-Full-piep ?!
thanks and best regards, LitN

Hi LiteintheNite,
You are not alone with this request.
I already drew some attention to this subject in Dennis‘s Vapcell thread here: https://budgetlightforum.com/comment/1739217#comment-1739217
