Small hotspot

Hi there,do anyone may know
any flashlight led or halogen to do at the dark small hotspot upon the wall but remain round ball small at far?
Cheap or expensive but i prefer cheap, thanks in advantage

Well, In general most if not all reflector based lights depending on how “close” to the wall they all tend to produce a “doughnut” hole which fades as you move outward.

Most LED throwers and quad dies will have a doughnut hole at really close range. Smooth reflectors will be more pronounced.
All the old mag PR lamp incans have the nastiest doughnut hole I have ever seen… and a host of other irregularities and artifacts for your viewing pleasure. hahaha

Good Luck!!

Curious, what do you need the center hole for? Most BLFers don’t like that.

Reflectors make a round spot but have a large circle of light called ‘spill’ around the hotspot.

Lens/aspheric flashlights make a very tight spot without spill, but the spot is a square because the LED is square.
Almost no flashlights with a round LED exist.

The third option is a TIR flashlight like LedLenser, which uses a special optic called a TIR.
These flashlights make a spot with no spill but also it is round, not square.

Guys, he’s asking for a light that makes a round hotspot in the dark.

Doesn’t most if not all flashlights that’s not a flooder make a round hotspot in the dark ?

Only TIR, aspheric, and recoil lights make a spot with no spill, which is what it looks like he’s asking for.
Of those, only TIR and recoil lights make a round spot (unless you use a round LED)

Oh and also LEP flashlights now, those make a nice round spot with no spill. But they’re expensive :frowning:

“No spill” is a hyperbole. There’s some spill but with TIR optics the spill is rather smooth and with LEPs it’s very faint

I am talking specifically about LedLenser type TIR optics.
There is no spill.

Same for lights like the Acebeam E10 and others.

I understand that, But the OP never mentioned anything about not having spill just that a hotspot be round.

He did say ‘small hotspot’
Nobody would care about how small the hotspot is if they’re talking about a light that has spill.
When people talk about a small spot, they mean a tight beam, like in aspherics.
You can also deduce this by the fact that he specifically asked for a round spot rather than a square, indicating that he has looked for this light and has come across lens flashlights, which all have square spots.

Yes his english isn’t great but if you read between the lines you can get the gist of it.

That’s just an assumption until the OP themselves confirms its all speculative. The OP also never indicated anything about a square hotspot but with what was said “dark small hotspot upon the wall” one would assume that they mean up close there is a dark spot in the hotspot which disappears when there is distance and the hotspot itself remains a round.

Having a small hotspot or tight beam isn’t just indicative of aspheric either generally throwers have a tight beam relative to size of the light and a hotspot to match, I mean my C8+ with a CSLNM1.1G has a very tight beam and a small hotspot and my Noctigon K1 has an even smaller hotspot.

Guys, you are overcomplicating things and probably scaring the OP (it was his first post) so that he might never come back.

He was only asking for a flashlight that, “at the dark”, has a “small hotspot upon the wall” and also “remain round ball small at far”.

It means he wants the hotspot to keep tight as distance increases. In other words, he wants a thrower.

Was that so hard to grasp?

Yes finally someone understand what exactly i want,do you know any flashlight?like this one

Guys whats the name of this flashlight in this video?

Well the first video is a light that is focused with a fresnel lens attached to a garbage can, second I’m not scrubbing through a 20 min video about covid zombies to look for the light you mentioned.

This one whats the name of it?

From the picture I can’t tell but it looks to be a generic 6v battery flashlight.

Oh and its what im looking for
Is all 6v generic flashlight make small hotspot? Like this one or no?

Enderman beat me to it:
“…LEP flashlights now, those make a nice round spot…”
and how.

Get yourself a C8+ with the osram emitter and included battery (about 26$ or so). If you want to spend a lot of money, get an lep light… You will also need a charger. If you are unfamiliar with the care and safety associated with lithium ion batteries, start there first. They are not toys.
