Different brands of batteries used together

Hello,I have some samsung inr 30q 15a 3000mah 3.7v button top batteries. I also have some Vapcell inr. S30 3000mah 25a flattop batteries. I have a long body Mateminco mt70 plus which takes 8 batteries 4 in each carrier. Could I use both brands of batteries, the Samsung batteries in one carrier and the Vapcell batteries in the other carrier. Thanks Jim

Ideally with lights that run on multi-cells you would use married sets so as to discharge them proportionally to their internal resistance, which increases with wear. Marrying them keeps that internal resistance very close, and ensures the batteries share the load equally.

Having random batteries say some with 200+ cycles and some new cells it can cause issues as they are discharged due to the difference of internal resistance due to wear. So as long as the 30Q’s and the Vapcells have roughly the same charge cycles it shouldn’t be an issue.

Ok thanks for the info.

It’s always safer (on a relative basis) to use cells that are as closely matched as possible. If you are unable to measure actual capacity, resistance, cycle counts then try to minimize the differences by using the same brand, model and age. The higher the current drain application the greater the risk too.

Its always best to use matched cells in carrier, like in one u can have 4 samsung 30q, and other carries u can have 4 sony vtc6…

Thats what I thought. Thanks for your help, Jim
