"MV Ever Given" Marine Traffic Jam

Aren't you glad you're here and not there!laughing

"A maritime traffic jam grew to more than 200 vessels Friday, disrupting global shipping outside the Suez Canal. The screenshot from the Marine traffic site below shows all these ships trying to change course because of the blockage. There are hundreds more trying to make their way through."

It’s a conspiracy. All the technology on board and got stranded in this day and age? Must’ve been done on purpose.

Why is it “Ever Given” if it is written “Evergreen” on the side of the ship? Flat Stare

EDIT: Evergreen = company & Ever Given = ship?

EverGiven is a macrocosmic mirror of my spirit stuck here, trying to get to Heaven.

I was informed that I can reasonably expect a delay of up to nine (or more, yikes!) years, but maybe much sooner. No way of knowing.

I am going to miss my BLF GT 94s', and a few or so others, but not much more of anything else.

Yeh. They got other ships like the Ever Greet, Ever Lasting, etc.

And slightly less known ships like Ever Hard, Ever Stuck, etc.

And the Ever Groot?

They shouldn’t have tried that U-turn move—no parking, no parking on the dance floor.

Seems to me a typical case of: “Henk, turn the ship, I’ve left my purse in Suez”.

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.

Your other left!

You can't compare the big flashlight in the sky to the little flashlight in your hand.

Who is old enough to remember the 1967 Arab-Israeli War?

The Suez was closed for 8 years back then.

That’s Cher, I think. Silly

(At least I remember the commercial for… uhh… whatever.)

But yeah, ever since she got done dirty by the rest of the band, it just wasn’t the same. Same name, but not the same band.

I remember that. I also remember that back then about all I knew that came from China was tea, fancy dishes, and silk. Hondas and Toyotas were rare oddities and we had a new Rambler. My favorite shoes came from a factory about 45 minutes away from my house. Those miniature transistor radios from Japan sure were neat. However, our vacuum tube TV was made in the USA and IIRC the first “solid state” TV that we got to replace it during the time the Suez was closed was also made here. Very different world today. I guess I was already becoming globalized. Wink

I had a Volvo 123GT and an Austin Mini Cooper S and a Ducati Diana Mark 3 motorcycle. My home stereo was self-assembled Heathkit (US) but my turntable was a B&O (Denmark) and my speakers were Yamaha. I smoked Irish pipe tobacco and had already discovered Guinness and other European beers.

I had friends (Jewish) who wanted to go and join the Israeli armed forces, but that war ended too soon.

A very different world today though.

I was too young to smoke and drink back then;-) However, I do remember wanting a B & O stereo or even a Heathkit! Had to settle for a cheap realistic amp from Radio Shack. About the time the canal re-opened I got a nice Onkyo turntable that I still have today. (Upgraded to a better Grado cartridge 15 or 20 years ago.)

And to add further insult to injury:

Microsoft Flight Simulator mod blocks Suez Canal with Ever Given cargo ship

Are there any kamikaze’s in the house?
