Why do I have a feeling that if they send you the light and you write a bad review (albeit honest) that will be the last light they ever send you.

What makes you feel this way? I did not have this kind of experience with Wurkkos or Sofirn yet, even though I am one of the rather nitpicky, critical kind. But I made that exact experience with a so called premium brand beginning with the letter A. They now ignore me on all communication channels.

If I reviewed a light I purchased, I think I would be more honest in the review. If I felt the interface was horrible, I would say so. Whereas, if I was sent a light to review, the overall rating would tend to be positive. I attribute this behavior to human nature. Lets face it, how many light reviews do you see that are either poor to bad? Whereas, when the owner/purchasers discuss the same light on this forum, it seems the real truth comes out. This is of course my observation and opinion.

I gotta say, all the Sofirn/Wurkkos lights I’ve gotten/reviewed, I had to find something to nitpick about, ‘cause they’re generally all-around good.

‘Though to be fair, lights I’ve heard about and figured I wouldn’t like (eg, the new UI of the SP10S [model], vs the older SP10s [plural]), I never got, let alone reviewed.

I’ve yet to get a light that had a serious shortcoming. (I mean as far as fit/finish/usage, not about internals like a “Eww, this uses a FET and isn’t regulated” kind of thing.)

Another reason why I “pre-screen” would-be reviews. Had some mfrs say they’d reimburse after a 5-star review, and I asked “But what if there’s something bad about it that I couldn’t give a 5-star review?”, and got no reply (not surprising).

I never had anyone from Sofirn/Wurkkos make that a requirement. And if I ever had a problem with something (DOA, etc.), I’d ask first and I’m sure they’d send a replacement, just like with any non-review light.

But truth be told, you can put a positive spin on things. If a light’s unusually heavy, you spin it as “solid and built like a tank”, which is true. If it’s got thinwall tubing and is very lightweight, you can spin it that it’s “featherweight” and doesn’t pull down your pants if you carry it in your pocket, which is also true. Either one can be a positive or negative, depending on what you want.

Amazon sellers used to offer free stuff if you wrote a review. It was kind of implied that the review should be positive.

You would be hard pressed to find something negative about the TS30s, I’ve owned it and it’s flawless pretty much, lucky people who will get to review it for a complementary light. The Anduril is great, the output is great, the lighted switch is the best I’ve seen besides Emisars, the anodization may be the best I’ve seeen, just all around solid job.

I keep seeing the names Wukkos and Sofirn together, what is the relationship? Same company? Is it like Toyota/Lexis?

I think so, or they use the same engineering or manufacturing company?

Wow, $80 bucks is not bad considering the LED alone is $50

Yakorsei is Sofirn’s parent company’s attempt at a higher-priced brand, like Lexus is to Toyota.

The Wurkkos brand is registered to another company, along with a few other brands that haven’t really been put to market.

The two companies could be related, but don’t expect any explicit answers to such matters, or others that involve some degree of transparency.

Sofirn and Yakorsei are registered with the same parent company – Shenzhen City Jinba Technology Co., Ltd.

Wurkkos is registered to a separate company (Shenzhen Wokesida Technology Co) and as far as I know operates with their own distinct staff and distributors. They use the same factory as Sofirn to produce their flashlights though, hence you see the occasional similarity in products like the FC11 and Sp31pro.

Suffice to say all three brands are more or less closely related.

FYI. In case anyone here was thinking a review was for a discounted of complementary light, you are sadly mistaken based on my PM reply.

I have reviews of several of these on Amazon. Just be aware that I will report both the positive and negative aspects of any item I review.
All the Best,
