I have some EZ900-package XR-Es, harvested from lights.

They are, however, of unknown binning.

You can each have one for free, if you're willing to pay postage.

I would assume they are EZ900 since the EZ1000 isn't being produced for quiet some time now.

So realistically, I should just buy an XR-E R2 from anywhere and that should be the EZ900?

Chicago X, I appreciate the offer. I have an XR-E sitting around as well (unknown binning) that I could use. If I'm going to do these aspherics right the first time, I'll just make sure I get R2's.

I can't guarantee it, but chances are very high... why don't you ask the sellers directly... they should know. I would also go for the premium LED sellers if R2 binning is that important to you.

Great! Keep us posted. I'm also interested in EZ900 R2 (or even decent Q5). Did you try to contact Dereelight about their famous EZ900 R2?

I ended up ordering a couple from Dereelight. Hopefully they make it here and are R2 EZ900's (hell, they could send me a Q4 and I would have no way of knowing).

I bought just the emitter. They sell emitters separately, and I emailed them to see if they had XR-E R2's.

i bought 2 of them from Deereelight ill post back when i get them and let u guys no what i got..... fingers crossed

I just wish places like digikey would sell emitters mounted on boards, because I don't even know how to mount a bare emitter to a heatsink without messing it up.

Do you have a link to the ones from digikey? All I saw were bare emitters on strips/tape.

Yup, I got two of them from Dereelight. They are indeed EZ900's. Haven't used them yet though. I realized though, every random XR-E I had in the house was an EZ900, haha.

Nitro / kevinjohnson, were either of you able to acquire ez900's on stars/PCB or bare emitters?
