Which XHP50 do you have, Cool White or Warm White?

The Nichia version falls in between with regards to colour temperature.
I have had a XHP50 Warm White in the past that had a really bad greenish/yellow tint, but I have also read that some of their latest batches had a very good tint. I think the biggest difference aside from the superior color rendering, will be the noticeable difference in CCT. The Nichia version is noticeably cooler than the Warm White, which can be good and bad depending on user preference and intended use. I find the Nichia model was great in most conditions, and was especially great indoors surrounded by white walls, and on snow, whereby the whites rendered as white. If your eyes are adjusted to candlelight or warm incandescents, the Nichia version will appear quite cool in comparison. The tint is perfect though. As for the cool white model, I would say this is 100% an upgrade if you are OK to compromise a few lumens for improved light quality. But I guess thats subjective on my part as I generally dislike anything over 5000K.

Mine is the warm white, I love it. The CRI isn’t as good as some of these LEDs but it’s pretty good, mid 80s based on tests here and my eyes agree. The color temp is perfect, too. I want to upgrade to a truly high CRI headlamp but this one has been just perfect for me.
