Interesting Lights from Taobao

Came a cross a few interesting lights on Taobao, but there is not much info with them.

Amutorch XT80? 1.2km of beam range seems pretty good and more likely to be achieved with a domeless type of emitter judging by the size of the head. I am guessing it comes with SBT90.2.
Can’t really find any information on the internet. Would be glad if somebody can share the buying source of this light and more information about it.

2km thrower with Osram white flat + Fresnel lens?!
The size of the head is 64mm, and if the Osram is driven reasonably hard + mounted on DTP board and the quality of the Fresnel lens is good I think it is kinda possible (2km = 1Mcd), or 1.6km (700kcd) seems to be more likely. If it lives up to that I think this could be one of the most affordable long range throwers. Would be fun to play with!
I think I have seen the same version but under the Amutorch’s brand, can’t really find it again.

There are some beamshots in this Taobao shop below (I am not affiliate at all):

Similar light but with different brand:

Does anyone have any idea whether Aliexpress carry these?
Or whether Banggood, Gearbest and Kaidomain sales rep are interested to carry these lights?

Interesting lights. Especially that Fresnel one - some Fresnel lenses have very short focal length, leading to really good efficiency all-spot beam, even if they are not nearly as throwy as regular lenses.

Seem kinda big in form factor and performance VS lights like the AstroLux FT03S With the STB 90.2 You gain 100-400? Meters for Larger form factor and or Fresnel lenses. The price is not winning me over either.

and Square Hotspot just reminds me of Cheep Zoomies too.

I think I will be passing on these unless the price point is crazy low Like sub $50.00 USD.

I am ok with being called a Astrolux fan this year as they are delivering good stuff for the last year.

A similar flashlight, the size of the head 63 mm and also with osram, probably W1 and Fresnel lens, and the range is about 1200 meters

Very interesting lights indeed. I can’t read mandarin? so TaoBao is useless to me. Any english version?

These are definitely Amutorch/Maxtoch lights. I believe Amutorch makes the Maxtoch brand.

Seriously interested in buying the side switch version with the Fresnel, if anybody has tips on how to purchase from there I’m all ears.

Any decent browser should easily translate that to English for ya. At least Opera did for me.

That will take you to an agent of the Taobao site as well.

Thanks toddcshoe

The listed price is in RMB, so it’s actually sub $50 in USD (not including shipping I guess).

Oh thanks for sharing! No wonder it seems familiar lol.
But Maxtoch is so expensive nowadays that they are even more expensive than some brands like Fenix and Olight.

What is the translation of the brand name? Do they have any other lights? (Fresnel versions)

I am looking for English website too, and that’s why I am asking for any Aliexpress / other online buying sources.
Nonetheless Bombay has mentioned about the Maxtoch Archer as above, which is very close to this but at a Much high price point lol. I am sure Maxtoch would have better build quality tho.

I tried to search with the Chinese brand name on Google, but no luck so far. :frowning:

Maybe a better driver, but I bet the machining and finish is about the same. Heck, $12 Convoy knockoffs have great finish these days. Maxtochs are now just way overpriced, and Amutorch is bipolar with their pricing. I tried buying this side switch version Fresnel without batteries and so far it came to 40usd. I don’t have a good feeling about that English agent site. Might have to PP dispute it eventually.

Toddcshoe, any direct experience there?

Agree, Maxtochs are overpriced. They’ve got some great lights but their price aren’t really justified.
