Local Sports

Yesterday, the football season ended for high school sports in my area.

The Palm Desert Aztecs had a perfect season, though they played only five games.

What's more impressive is that they haven't lost a game since 2016.

I don't know anyone that attends Palm Desert High School, but I do know a teacher there.

So, congrats to the Aztecs!

If you have a sports story from your area, feel free to share it here.

Necrobump!
The biggest sports team in the Coachella Valley is the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
They’re in the American Hockey League, which is a professional sports league that is one step below the National Hockey League.
The Coachella Valley Firebirds have only played for one season, and they’re currently in the Calder Cup, which is the like The Finals in the NBA, but for the AHL.
I don’t really care for hockey, but I think it’s cool that our local team is in the Calder Cup in their inaugural season. :+1:

What is “local sports” in this context?
Anyway, for the first time in 47 years, the Denver Nuggets won an NBA championship last night… WOW. The city is quite excited.
While not being a huge NBA fan, I watched the finals and actually got into it. So I am happy. It was an exciting maybe 15 hours of my life. So it was good! :japanese_ogre:

I watched the NBA post-season.
At first I rooted for the Lakers, but after the Nuggets swept them, I rooted for the Nuggets in the Finals.
Almost all of the games that I saw were very entertaining. :+1:

The Calder Cup is all tied up 3 games to 3 games, forcing a Game 7!
If anyone out there likes minor league hockey, maybe check out the final game (whenever it airs. I couldn’t figure out when the last game is.)

EDIT:
Game 7 will be on Wednesday.
I don’t know if it’ll air in the entire U.S. or not, but my mom plans to watch Game 7 on one of our TV channels.
She’s not a hockey fan (she likes watching MLB), but she watched one of the games in the Calder Cup and somewhat liked it, so she’ll check out the final game.

On yesterday’s world news there was a story about the BNP Paribas Open, which takes place not too far away from where I live.
I haven’t watched a tennis match in many years, but this story is interesting (to me.)
