Faulty LT1? Help please!

My LT1 arrived yesterday and man it’s amazing but seemingly defective?

Attach batteries>turn on>nothing happens except switch LED goes out

Try a whole bunch of things and still, nothing happens

try using while powered by USB-C only and it works!

Try out tint shift (successfully works back and forth while powered on USB-C only) and then unintentionally leave on cool white>re-attach battery tube and it’s working (on cool white)>try tint shift and confirm issue is: while on battery power only the warm tint LEDS don’t turn on

After playing with it for an extended period>seems to be working fully on battery power but then

Now it does some super weird flickery shut-off>restart sequence while using tint shift function instead of smoothly transitioning from cool white to warm white

ALSO: I’ve never had a flashlight that while the battery tube is being connected or removed causes the light to flicker and activate randomly in a sporadic manner. (videos below)

Any idea’s on what exactly is happening? I’m thinking because there are no issues at all while on USB-C power only, combined with the weird flickering while inserting/removing the battery tube that it’s somehow all related to a short between the battery tube and the head of the light?

Video of tint shift:
In this video all I’m doing is repeatedly testing tint shift with click>click>hold

The battery insertion oddness is likely caused by lack of anodizing on the threads. You might take peek and see if there is bare metal showing.
Makes me wonder if perhaps you got a returned flashlight that was messed with by a previous owner. Of just poor QC from the factory.
Did you get it via Amazon or from Sofirn?
If from Amazon, return it.
Hope you get it sorted out.
All the Best,
Jeff

Did you purchase the LT1 with the Sofirn batteries? If so you might want to check the negative end of the batteries for a strip of plastic. A few companies from China ship batteries that way to keep them from being discharged during their journey to you.

Thanks for the replies.

Purchased from Sofirn website and they’ve advised me they’re looking into it.

I’ll check the threads to see if the anodizing is worn off

The batteries indeed came with the light but it had the full plastic spacer on top which I did remove

The LT1 I got from Sofirm had a black round plastic disk on the NEG end of the batteries.
Maybe they are still using these batteries as well as a plastic thing on the top.
Worth checking ?
