Group buy fwaa

I everyone has anyone received their lumintop fwaa from the group buy of the fwaa from Nealsgadgets. I’m getting tracking information from the carrier it was sent with, that has been turned over to usps. But usps is saying they have not received it yet.

Usually there is a lag on the tracking.

Just give it a few more days. It should arrive. I’ve ordered lots of stuff from Nealsgadgets and all of it arrived, even if the tracking sometimes didn’t keep pace.

This is a little unusual Yun shipping says my package is at my local post office but usps is say they haven’t received it yet

Use this: https://postal.ninja/en
It will show you almost every step that your package takes!

Check for secondary tracking numbers. It might start out as LY2349434CN but once stateside and received by USPS go under 9274545349432907.

I got the 927… number but usps saying they haven’t received it

My tracking number didn’t work either no matter what tracking service I used but then one day the light just showed up on the porch.

Goods like this are not shipped in a slow boat, but come by plane. In a container. Not a 40ft container like on a boat, but a compact container special designed to fit into the belly of a (freight)plane. If the shipper unloads this container, his work is done. But the next step will only be visible after a company like USPS scans the content of the container into their system.
IMHO your “saying they haven’t received it” actually means “have not yet scanned it into their system”. Even if that information was brought to you by an actual living person. In NL that state of purgatory can take as much as a whole week. Be patient, it might take a while before the fat lady starts singing.

I get all that its been I 12 days now. And carriers tracking shows it being scared at post office about 40 miles from my home but usps still says they haven’t received it. Very frustrating

There are only a few people who can assist you effectively - Neal and USPS are at the top of the list. Hopefully it will turn up today for you :+1: At least it’s nearly there if it was scanned 40 miles away, so that’s a good sign rather than bad until you know different - more worrying if it hadn’t arrived in the USA. Sometimes these thing go through several ‘shippers’ and it may not even arrive by usps, they may have passed it on to another courier as part of it’s journey.

I received the fwaa yesterday. The day before I filled out a missing mail form. 10 hours later I received a notice that they could not find my package. Two hours after that I got a notice my package would be delivered that day. The tracking from yunexpress showed my package reaching my local post office buy may 3rd, but it probably got there may 1st When I contacted USPS they kept insisting that they had not received the package, all the way up to right before I received the notice I would receive the package Had I not pushed my package would still be sitting in the back room of my local post office.

congrats,

which LEDs did you choose?

are you happy, would you recommend it, does everything work properly?

i got the 3000k tint… works good very floody optic its alot smaller then u think, makes the fw3a look huge lol. reading facebook seems some users get some faulty lights sadly, where the light flickers once inserted battery idk seems still they lack proper quality on this kind of lights which is strange… even that guy flashaholic guy on youtube his sample was faulty….

Mine has a flicker when ramping up or down the flicker seems to be exactly half way between low and high.I wonder if that the light is supposed to not only flicker when it hits high but also flicker at the halfway point. But the light works well. My son should be able to use it on his baseball cap, while finishing, nicly

Yes, that flicker is supposed to happen

I agree, and Im also glad the solutions are simple.

there are three different kinds of FWAAnduril Flickers to distinguish.

1. the tailcap is not making proper contact, and the light flickers. The fix is to tighten the tail first, extra tight, like pinkpanda did. Change FWAA batteries thru the head.

2. there can be a short circuit of the black wire coming through the hole in the mcpcb. this makes the light stay On. The solution is to resolder, as shown in the photo by id30209

3. There is a double blink at begin, middle, and end of ramp… this is normal, everybody gets those kinds of flickers… its a feature, not a bug. I must read the manual or watch a video to learn what they mean.

.

For people new to Anduril 2, like me, here is a video that explains all the features.

Im goint to watch and see if I can find the answer to my question:

What does the middle ramp Double Blink mean, why should I care, and can I turn the Blinking off?

edit, nevermind… I dont have the attention span for that… LOL!

I believe it indicates transition to direct drive (FET) off from the 7135 or whatever low current regulator is on the board.
Mine does a short flicker when first attaching the head after swapping cells. Don’t know if it is designed to do this or not, but it doesn’t affect any other operation. Obviously the flicker on the high end just indicates top of ramp.

thanks, a boundary from regulated to unregulated output… I think that happens at around 173 lumens, I forget where I read that.

thats a feature, not a bug

Anduril 2 Manual
After putting a battery in the light and tightening the parts together, the light should quickly blink once to confirm it has power and is now operational.

Thanks Jon, I kinda figured it was something like that. I know when I manually lock out my A1 lights, then snug them back up to make connections, they do the same thing.

do you unscrew the head half a turn, or some other tactic? Any quirks to learn, like, dont unscrew the tail? I would rather unscrew, than multi click to lock and unlock.

I dont own any Anduril, Ive just been studying up on it cause I like the little triple FWAA, but am afraid to get involved in complex multiclick UIs. Even though I speak HDS, I think my days of reading manuals and learning new UIs may be behind me.

I really just want a simple ramping UI, that works on Eneloop AA, like the good old Nitecore D10. I think Simple mode in Anduril 2 might be able to emulate that.

I was actually sad when Cereal Killer modded a couple D10 to Anduril, thereby killing the AA compatibility. I have a strong resistance to adopting 14500. When the FWAA comes out in Titanium, I may have to resort my priorities… LOL
