Best rechargeable aa and aaa batteries.

Hi I am looking to purchase some rechargeable aa and aaa batteries for everyday use. I am trying to get my family away from disposable batteries. I am having difficulty in identifying which are the best.I would like some recommendations from the BLF members. Thanks Jim

Jim. There are no options here except the white Eneloop (or their generic - Fujitsu)

Ikea Ladda - same thing.

There are some:

The AA Duracell 2500 mAh (the gold/green ones) made in Japan “ready to use”

White or black Eneloops AA or AAA are good

The Fujitsu AA or AAA are good

IKEA Ladda AA 2450 or 900 AAA are good (if you can find them)

Any AA or AAA that’s “ready to use” out of the box will be good. They are LSD type. Tey to get ones made in Japan.

1st choice: Eneloops, nothing else.
2nd choice: Made in Japan Duracells, Energizer, Ladda, etc (I think they come from the same factory in Japan as Eneloops)
Anything else is trash and won’t last long.

Beware that some of the 2nd choice batteries may NOT be made in Japan IKEAloops 1000mAh/500mAh no longer made in Japan / New 06-2021 1900mAh+2450mAh IKEAloops

Fujitsu. Fujitsu owns the factory that makes Japanese eneloops. Some Eneloops are now being made in China, plus there are a lot of fake eneloops being sold.

This is true, however Panasonic USA does not import Chinese Eneloops.
If your not in the USA, then you’ll have to be more careful.

Currently the Fujitsu batteries are $23.49 on Amazon and the Eneloops I ordered are $18.99. (AA 8-packs)

Thanks for all the advice. I can say that Powerowl chargers are not good. I ordered 2 chargers, one after another. Both chargers did not charge the batteries fully. Both chargers only charged the AA batteries to an average of 70 percent. The AAA on both chargers only charged to average of 65 percent. That is what the chargers, charged to, when the indicator light turned green. The only reason I knew that the batteries were not fully charged is because I have a vapecells4plus charger. When I contacted the company they offered a refund, but I told them I would take a charger that worked. That was not a options, I believe thats because the charger they would send wouldn’t be any different and they knew that I have the Vapcell charger to check them. So thanks again for all the good advice. Jim

Member HJK does great battery and charger reviews. Link is to the left under the title : RELATED SITES….https://lygte-info.dk/info/indexBatteriesAndChargers%20UK.html

Note that once you have the chart you are looking for (chargers are a different link that batteries etc) you can sort by clicking the header. Great stuff. As an FYI, Costco often sells sets of white Eneloops (the best, as noted upthread) that come with an excellently HJK rated Panasonic charger to charge them (he uses happy faces as you’ll see in the link). We all seem to wind up with multiple chargers, be aware that you want a good one, not a cheap one. the Panasonic charger will not charge Lithium batteries, but a lot of Lithium rated chargers will also charge multiple chemistries including Eneloops -nickel–metal hydride (NiMH) . That’s all noted. Charger link direct below. You can sort by any header word. ie, click on ‘RATING’ to sort and if you have a bunch of Red Circle with sad faces simply click it again to resort and get 3 yellow happy faces.

If it seems too overwhelming, pop back in and ask away, these folks are both super helpful and super knowledgeable.

Be careful - amazon sells a lot of fakes.

How to tell?

Lol

Is that EBL for real?

Some times it’s hard to tell. If you buy Eneloops from amazon, due to their practice of commingling, there’s a good chance you will get fakes.

Five compared to envelope 2100 why bother.

That is so not true. I use Energizer Recharge. Just over $1 each and a fraction of the price of Eneloop. Made in Japan.

Just over a dollar each? Where?

made in japan=fdk.
regardless of the name on the wrapper.
just got a ton of energizer 2000mah made in japan $2/4.
guy at the flea had em and thought they were alkaleaks.
and yes i bought all he had.
after i paid him he asked what was special about those?
rechargeables.
