Hahaha, nice, I just use a headlamp torch

Excellent work! That’s a nice mount you put together. :+1:

Did you make those clamps with the ballheads yourself?

I have several Pedco Ultrapod II compact tripods that are great for rigging up flashlights or small cameras. They’re made of quality plastic and the heads are a dual ballhead design. I bought mine used on eBay for $10 to $12 each. Some were rebranded for REI.

The legs fold together into an ‘L’ shape and have a Velcro strap to use for fastening to various objects. The legs have grippy vinyl on the ends that help increase friction and they hold on quite securely. Here’s one holding a Q8.

I fashioned a clamp to hold other lights that don’t have a built-in tripod mount using quick-release clamps for theater and stage lighting. More info in my post here.

I have a small collection of tripods, clamps, and related accessories. Besides the Ultrapod II, these two are my favorites gadgets for mounting a GoPro, smartphone, flashlight, or flashes:

The small clamp opens to just over 2-1/4” and is very secure when tightened.

There are several makers but I have been very happy with SmallRig’s stuff. Here are some Amazon links for the clamp with double ballhead and their knockoff Magic Arm.
The clamps are available separately and in bundles with other items, and they have lots of other cool stuff too.

If you get an arm, be sure to choose one with a geared joint at the middle. It locks up very securely and will not slip. The only thing to consider is how the weight of the equipment will influence the screw connections. I used high-strength threadlocker to attach a clamp to one end of the arm so it won’t loosen from the clamp due to the weight of a camera.

Funny thing too, just the other night I was out in the backyard again around 3 am just lounging and relaxing and looking up at the stars kinda thing. Then it cross my mind. What if I mowed my lawn right now? Which neighbors are gonna wake up first? Are the cops gonna come around?
Then I decided to drop the subject and just keep looking at the stars!

my $22 sp40 does the job well for mowing and snow blowing. Cannot being myself to start collecting headlamps.. yet.. lol

We’re in OK and finally got a sunny day today. Temp in low 70s. Got the lawn mowed and it sure was tall, but happily my new 60V Toro made easy work of it. I might never use a gas mower again!

Haha yeah same here. I always mow in the evening around 8ish or so. The main thing is much cooler temperatures. I don’t remember the last time I mowed under the sun.

Wellp, they do have those lawn-roombas, but nfi how much one would cost.

That’d be so kewl, though.

very nice mod

haha creative and cool.

Your neighbors are gonna love when you are cutting your grass when they are sleeping.
