Did you test it briefly to see if your sample does not have the ultra short turbo run time situation? I have two MS03, and clean up of all thread compound was needed to keep the tube/head and tube/tail contact areas clean and functioning properly. Screw the tube to head very tight.
Also, a large solder blob on top of unprotected 40T will work ok, if all of the thread compound is cleaned up, and tube/head is screwed in very tight.
All I did was take out the factory battery and charge it up. While it was charging I tried one of my “normal” 21700 batteries and that’s when I discovered that the factory Imalent battery is 76mm long. All my 21700 batteries are the standard 70mm long. So that would be a pretty tall solder blob.
After the Imalent battery was charged I put it in and turned on the flashlight. On turbo it got extremely hot very fast - as in about 10 seconds you couldn’t touch the head and in about 20 seconds I couldn’t hold it any longer …. needed gloves. I have not done any further testing of it. At that point i knew this flashlight was not my cup of tea and started the return procedures with FastTech.
