Alright you flashing fiends… while I think the decision on the flashing pad arrangement of the SC21 Pro is just silliness, I just can’t help but make flashing keys (especially when I am persuaded to do so…). I just whipped these guys up, I’ll have them available whenever Oshpark can get them to me (likely a couple of weeks):

Depending on what style of programmer you have, I made two different types of adapters, one with the resistor and diode on board, one without. Really, the one with the resistor and diode would cover both scenarios – you would just connect the RX line and leave the TX empty… but I created and ordered the 3-wire version before I thought about that. Oh well!

3-wire version:

4-wire version:

Gchart, please put me down for the 4 wire version with diode. That would work great with the UPDI programmer I have.

Thank you, Bob.

Jon, thanks for the link. I just ordered 3 more, one of each color, with battery of course. I see some emitter swaps in my future Smile

If I have these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LZV1G6K, then can I just solder the wire to the jumper connecting TX/RX or is the diode required?

I just got some of those USB adapters. From my tests, I was able to flash firmware just fine. BUT… I have not yet tried that with just jumping the TX and RX together. Some people have gotten it to work, and I think a couple have not reported as much luck.

Those are the adapters I have, I have not tried any flashing yet, I only connected it to my pc to make sure I could see the com port.

No dice. So where is a good place to get assorted diodes and resistors?

yes
the SC21 Pro ships w Anduril 1.
I use gcharts programmer to reflash to Anduril 2.

alternatively, the Wurkkos TS10, and Sofirn SP10 Pro, ship w Anduril 2

Cool, my SP10Pro is on permanent EDC duty, but I just wanted to see the difference in hand between the 16340 and 14500 size lights. Can’t really take the word of people online about feel in hand because, well, their hands aren’t my hands Smile

I might go for one anyway just because they’re so(firn) affordable. Just to see how it feels.

I like the shorter (but fatter) SC21 Pro size better than the SP10 Pro form factor. (both lights have the same carry weight)
.
I also like the lighted button better, the clip rides deeper, and it tailstands better

Very nice – the reflectors are the same size, right? I think I heard that somewhere.

Any luck on finding a TIR that goes in without too much sanding or cutting required? I’ve got DC-Fix on my SP10Pro, but I’m curious if there are any other nice lens options.

Very interesting, thanks for that. Pity they aren’t the same size, because I tried the S2+ TIRs and they don’t work like drop-ins on my SP10Pro like they do in that SC21Pro. That’s another tick for me getting one I guess.

20mm TIRs are most common for these lights (S2+, etc.), but 17mm is another somewhat common size. Fits in D25 headlamps with minimal sanding, so see if one of those would do.

Only thing I’d be concerned with is depth. (That’s what she said…)

I just got a new SC21 Pro today.. I will be happy to use your new programmer and pogo pins, when ready.

the Programmer and pogo pins you provided for SP10 Pro also works on TS10. It has been working Great for me.

fwiw, the hex for SC21 Pro needs updating to lower lows, and to add LVP to the button light circuit..

in the meantime, would it work to use the TS10 hex you made, dated 7/19, on an SC21 Pro

the only difference I know, from using the TS10 hex, is the SC21 Pro button light will be Off when main LEDs are On.. no harm in that. But there is a lot I dont know.. lol

Any reason NOT to put TS10 firmware on SC21 Pro?

Jumping in the pool here without reading this whole thread. I’m interested in updating to Anduril 2, so I’m interested to hear the response to jonslider’s q in the previous post.

also, my programmer is rather different than ones I’ve seen used recently.

How can someone guide me to instructions how to use this programmer with the SC21 please?

I see no reason not to put TS10 firmware on the SC21 Pro. I’ll be the guinea pig and report back.

Sorry, sbslider. That’s a USBasp, great for the attiny85 and attiny1634. But not compatible with the attiny1616. You’d need a USB to Serial TTL adapter like what you linked to above. I’ve got some on hand that I can send out with pogo adapters, or they’re available on Amazon

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I’ll PM you regarding specifics of the programmer and adapter.

Confirmed: I just flashed the TS10 file to my SC21 Pro and it’s working great! Lower lows and all.

Thanks for the link jon_slider, but for some reason it doesn’t work for me right now. If I copy the text of the link and go there it does work. Weird.

I’ll likely slow roll this one for now, sort of like my standard tee shot at hole 4 of Evergreen Park disc golf course.
No disc golf at Alameda park, too many folks hanging out there for that activity. Would be nice though, as that’s much closer to my house. Back to the topic, I think the thing Anduril 2 has that I would am most interested in is the timer feature in 5 minute increments for sunset, so for now I’ll watch this thread and see how things go for folks.
