Deal killers..........

Recently there was a personal deal killer on a killer deal for the S11C. I don’t own any Sofirn flashes :open_mouth: ….I know, blasphemy, Notta!

Butt I was curious since many here think they’re outstanding in general. The LH351D LED specifically makes it the prime attraction besides helping Jeff Bezos with the new yacht. So I was just about to pull the trigger and lose my virginity butt……

It has to be pretty much recharged with a USB-C.

Ya have any idear how many USB-micro cables I gots? Too many in that one’s somehow sticking outta my rear at the moment. I’m afraid to yank it out and possibly damage the cable. Priorities. Sensible. I’m the sensitive kind.

I guess some manufacturers market-target USB-Cers thinking that they’ve just captured a specific audience. Good for them. Personally I think it’s marketing silliness cuz for me at least they lost a sale (one step forward, one step back, sorta) and maybe future ones cuz I still won’t know how good Sofirn’s other offerings are. :student:

Well they didn’t capture me on the S11C. I know ya don’t care. I wouldn’t either if someone else wrote this thread.

Butt I absolutely refuse to be abused. Having me to rely on a basically as of yet a non-standard USB charging cable is akin to abusing myself. Why this adamant? Well ok let’s say I bought the S11C. Then I lose the USB-C cable. Watt do I do then? I gotta buy another USB-C cable to replace the one that came with the flash. Beyond all that I should then buy a sh*t of USB-C cables just in case I lose the second one too. This is nutz abusive.

As ya can see self-abuse is not notta’s thing. Except in certain circumstances which I won’t go into here.

That kinda self-abuse I’ll tolerate.

Ranting off. :open_mouth:

PS. By the overwhelming pro USB-C replies so far I’ve decided that I better get cracking on buying lots more if I wanna own the latest and greatest rechargeable flash offerings. Cuz of the 5V output cable. Ya know so far I’ve never had problems with the ruggedness of USB-micros to the extent that I’d pass up on anything that has one - especially great deals.
PSS. I’ll be dammed if I’m gonna carry a dinky adapter thingy to adapt to this marketing situation either. I guess rechargeable flashes with USB-C will not be my thang. Thanks for not caring. :+1:
PSSS. Granted ya gotta insert the male into the female more GENTLY and also of course always in the cooooorrrrect orientation. No BFD. Same principles apply to lotsa thingy’s in life. Bottom line USB-micro charges up jazz every time. :open_mouth:
PSSSS. All this kinda reminds me of the U.S.A. ’s standard for ages 2-3 prong and 110v outlet symbiotic interchange. Should we go Europeon prongy cause the male goes in easier without orientation problems? :open_mouth: :student:  :+1:
PSSSSS. Sheeit. It’s getting to the G-dam point where I’m gonna havta carry one of these fooking things somewhere in my EDC pants. Butt no, they had to “improve” rechargeable flashlights instead of leaving things well enuff alone like the U.S. 2 prong 110VOLT/15AMPS deal. Cuz ya know, it’s SOOOOO much better. Yes for 5V & 200ma. Extreme flash electrocution hazards notwithstanding. Oooooooooo. :open_mouth:

PSSSSSS. Meant S11C………………….Notta ya big doofus.

Just about everything coming out is using usb-c, and it’s a better connector.

You can also buy a 5-pack of micro-usb to usb-c adapters for a few dollars.

No comment on this :expressionless:

Someday, notta will lose his behymen.

You’re gonna be accumulating a bunch of Cs if you buy many flashlights today. I never bought one outright and have many now.

Sounds like the makins of a Country and Western song (both types) -

max you are correct: “Sounds like the makins of a Country and Western song…”

I’m still trying to figure out how he lost his virginity butt. Wherenahell did he leave it?

I could see if he returned it because it had a crack in it…

Sounds like it happened by accident. I cant even picture that.

uhh…what’s an SC11? Maybe the Wurkkos FC11? or the Sofirn S11C

Just unscrew the tail unless you want a discharged battery after 30 days

Not to get off topic, but USB-C is the standard. Anything that has micro usb has been a deal breaker for me for at least 5 years. I have literally been without an e-reader for 4 years (until a couple of months ago) because my old one died and I refused to replace it with one that still had a flimsy, awful, and outdated micro usb port.

Micro USB's are TERRIBLE, I literally hate them solely due to how many have failed in the device. I get not wanting to buy and accumulate more cables, but i havent bought a USB-c yet.

"notta one".

I have gotten Every One I Own from my Sofirn and Astrolux (when Astrolux randomly includes them) lights.

PS. this IS a colorful thread OP. i like it.

I think a lot of yooz are abusing your male ends. Females tolerate a bunch of ruff in and outs. Lotsa abuse and they still work the next time ya need em’. ’Course the occasional USB-micro has failed. So has a USB-C. Butt ya gotta be doing some SERIOUS abuse to yer male ends cuz for the most part they’re rugged as h*ll. Sure jam it in there constantly, ram away, without concern of orientation, and ya it’s gonna eventually fail either that or ya got cheaply made junk to begin with.

IDK. Lotsa purrfectly good USB-micro cables gonna be orphaned/trashed. Think of the environment! How many more innocent pelicans and seagulls have to strangled? We got enuff floating discarded oceanic plastics. For watt? A much better connection? Ya right. It ain’t THAT much better. Another marketing scheme to get ya to buy their latest and greatest BS. Buy, Buy, Buy cuz it’s better!!! It really is. Trust us!

female end that just got loose

That comes with time and intended use, it’s perfectly natural.

5, but yeah.

USB C is where things are going now. Just the way it is. I’m mostly on micro but have a few things with C. C can be quite messy but hopefully the standards are getting more defined and when everything implemented correctly with the correct cables it is really an improvement.

I truly hope that we will always be able to get lights without such unnecessary breaches that expose them to possible water damage. No charging, ports within the seals, or magnetic charging are my preferred choice. None of it is a deal breaker for me however. Like my SC31 Pro and I don’t even remember if it is micro or C as I sealed the charging port. Don’t use it. Want to know what is going with my batteries. As I already have a charger that will give me a good idea of the health of my batteries I just don’t use built in charging.

Hay LB,

Is this twoo?

If it is Sofirn shoulda focused on improving THAT first instead of maybe going USB-C trendy. See now I’m really glad I didn’t buy even one. Deal killer. Cuz ya know now it’s not just that notta’s gotta remember to have a USB-C handy butt now I also gotta fooking remember to unscrew the tailcap every time I put it down somewheres x 5 each. :person_facepalming:

I like to set and forget mostly. Too many increasing things that need too much remembering for not too much gaining. :open_mouth:

PS. Maybe that’s why they’re blowing em out?

Ain’t saying it’s not, but I never noticed.

1 - I never leave long-term lights with cells in ’em, not even “locked out” (ano can wear through).

2 - If they’re “active duty”, I notice when they’re getting low and charge ’em, or top ’em off if “it’s been a while”.

I could ask my gf, see if she noticed anything. That became her purse-light for a while, iirr.

“I could ask my gf…….”

Watt kinda wonderful flashy techno gf is that? U lucky bassturd.

Is she like Wonder Woman or sumthin in the dark? :open_mouth:

Three Mile Island has the finest women in the world. No batteries needed. Natural GITD.
