Price of chicken these days

Anyone know what’s going on with chicken prices? They seem to be through the roof. I used to pay $1.99 on sale for chicken breast. Now you only find organic for $6.99. Most places sell out before noon.

Inflation is apparently an issue across many countries and market segments. Food is only one of them.
I heard from so many family members that they now pay so much more for meat and other items.

I’ll give you one guess zoulas…. Chicken, Beef, Pork, lumber, gas & fuel, etc., etc. :person_facepalming:  :smiling_imp: :white_check_mark:

"Price if chicken these days"

I went to McDonald's and asked them how much the McChicken is.

I was surprised at how cheap it was, so I asked them, "How much if chicken?"

(People make fun of McDonald's because their food has iffy ingredients.)

Was it?

Edit: I don’t eat chicken since I find their keeping heartbreaking. Tricatel is welcome here

For the last 6 months China needs a lot stuff, also chicken-meat.

I imagine mcdonalds chicken is a certain % chicken and % something else. When chicken prices go up, they just increase the something else % and reduce the chicken % . This keeps the price constant. Eventually, it will be 100% something else. At that point they will have to rename it McSomething.

Yep, it'll be the McSoylentGreen.

Seems in stock everywhere around where I live. Bought some yesterday for the grill tonight

If it contains people is one thing, what if you found out one of your relatives was in there.

My wife and I just came back from our weekly grocery shopping at a Fairprice supermarket, which is run by Singapore Trade Union. A b-b-q ready-to-eat whole (factory-raised) chicken costs only S$4.90 or US$3.75. I guess a Big Mac costs more.

Cannibalism is fine as long as you don't eat your family.

Price of “opening up”. All the supply chains are readjusting to normal. Give it time. Always a love/hate situation. Love low gas prices. Hate slow economy.
