I don’t think red is very mainstream. The wizard pro WR would be the closest one I can think of but it lacks anduril. I think I might be able to build you one similar to a FW3T I modified, but I’d have to do some research.
The Wizard “C2” WR has a few upgrades over the old Wizard WR and it was just released within the last couple of months. White and warm options. Springs on both ends now , a larger lens, a larger button, and a faster charger. Only a few times because of bugs have I thought about wanting a good red capable headlight. Rain, mist, fog and snow is also a problem while wearing a headlight so the red likely would be better there also but probably only for very short distances. I’ve considered getting one but I don’t know how often I would actually use the red.
FireFlies just added the "2021 PL47" head lamp to their site today (or maybe yesterday) i just saw. Looks promising. it also is able to use the 22430 battery platform, which i have in both my e07x's and my e12r and the battery Jack supplies with it is actually very nice (2000mah, 10amp+ CDR).
The description says it has new springs to protect the battery and the driver.??? Is it the same exact length as the C2 pro? I would assume the tail caps are identical with the new heavy duty spring. And would you say the warm C2 WR is warmer than the new warm C2 pro? Not much info out there on these yet. Armytek does have a YouTube video up showing bugs being attracted to the White light versus very few bugs to the red light but if they used the “white” one that’s not a fair test. But it is a pretty dramatic video.
Yep!
Feeding animals at night and using red headlamp over white means no bugs zinging into your eyes at 30mph. Also the magnetic tail means I can stick the light where my dog likes to sleep and not step on him at night. The magnetic charger I like because its simple and works and no plugging in a cable in the dark. The red firefly long press and white firefly shortpress from off is necessary as I HATE being blinded by turbo, high, med, low, firefly lights or memory lights that hold an unknown setting.
I have both h5r and mc12, very interesting headlamps for a cheap price but I totaly agree with your suggested improvements.
Both headlamps are 6000k and there’s not realy moonlight
It’s a single press to change mode.
