Looking for tips/parts to build S2+ triple

So I been thinking for a good time to build S2+ with triple 219b’s, but after looking around for spacer I hitted a wall. Only place to get would be MTN Electronics and shipping is pretty steep, around + 16 dollars. Not a deal killer if I order some other stuff at same time, like pretty much everything I need and some extra stuff for future, but getting stuff for S21A seems a little easier right now. Kiriba-ru seems to have those in sale, but just making sure if anyone around EU got any S2+ spacers laying around?
EDIT: Getting custom made copper spacer for S2+ from Haukkeli.

MCPCB + optics:

Kaidomain got some good quad and triple mcpcb’s with optics so that is already covered. Maybe Carclo optics are better?

What about quad setup? Too much?

Extra bling:

What about glow gaskets for those? CRX has selling those for triples, but he seems to be gone right now.

Driver:

And driver… If I decide to go with this: https://led4power.com/product/ld-a4-2-12amp-17mm-constant-current-led-fl... What max amps I should set for Nichia 219b sw45k’s, 5A?

Any other good options preferably from EU or China.

So recommend stuff for me. That’s about it. LOL

Edit: Saw you already found a spacer

Maybe not ideal but I actually bought 1× 16mm and 3×20mm copper mcpcb and proceed to delaminate the top with heat, sand and solder these sandwiches into a tall spacer. Then drill a hole in center.
Quite some tasks but hey it is still cheaper than buying a spacer or getting a Jaxman E2L host in the past.

Quad is fine. I’ve been thinking about it too. But I am not sure how big is Kaidomain’s Quad TIR diameter. I only know the triples will fit the S2+ but not sure if it’s too small for S21A or too big for S2+
There’s also intl-outdoor if you need any parts like carclo. They used to have triple mcpcb too but not much now.

Glow gaskets. Maybe follow” CRX guide”:https://budgetlightforum.com/node/62243 on how to do it but with glow tape? Or scour around aliexpress “resellers”:https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002829785763.html for turboglow?

And as for driver I still run convoy’s SST40 driver. This one
Probably my favorite since I don’t really change mode often. Just program my favorite brightness into 3 slots and I got 3 useful preset and no memory. Although it can hit 8 amps, it will probably go at most 6 amps in my case. 5 amps nominal.

The driver you linked is a 20mm. S2+ only fits 17mm

Driver must been for S21A that seemed most likely to happen first, but updated that into 17mm version.

Triple is the most you can get in an S2+. For quad you would need to go bigger, like an M2. Here’s my quad 219B M2 with a custom kiriba-ru spacer:

3 amps per 219B is the max I go as long as it’s on a copper DTP board: Nichia 219B 4500k D220 9080 CRI Emitter output test by Texas_Ace; Amazing tint and CRI! Output is what you would expect.

I’d rather use my flashlight around the house than turn on the lights.

MoreLumens…. If he does not see & post in this thread, contact chops748 & ask him.
He built & gave me a triple S2+ last year. I can’t remember offhand the components he used, but I love it!!
The tint is great & it handles the heat very well. ✅

Why not 4A? That’s where it peaks, right? Difference in lumens wouldn’t be that much, probably unnoticeable and 25% less amps which equals less heat and longer runtimes, so that’s why?

So if I get 3xsw45k on a parallel board then I should get 9A driver so every leds get 3A, 12A if I want 4A per led. Right?

You want to half that on such a small host

For the test itself I have the LED’s all reflowed to DTP copper stars unless otherwise noted, they are then mounted on a PC heat sink with fan that I setup to hold said stars. The fan is running the whole time.

I’ll echo what power11 said 5A nominal. I use SST40 ,12groups driver

You can drive them harder, but it will get extremely hot!
Also its far more efficiënt to drive them not that hard.
If you want a pocket rocket, don’t use 219B’s, especially not behind a TIR since a TIR will blend the colors.

Yeah I could use LH351D’s, SST20’s, XP-L HI’s or even 219c’s to get more lumens, but thing is that none of those leds are 219b.
Not really looking for a pocket hot rod, but more like a nice balanced EDC with enough lumens, nice tint and good runtime. So 5A should do it then?

This driver seems better for my needs because I could set those brightness levels. Is it constant current?

That newer 12-group seems good, but can you program brightness settings on it? Not sure if I like that spacing. Any ideas what %-mode will be closest to sustainable lumen level in this setup?

I am looking to build some s2+‘s for fun and wondered what you decided on? This will be my first time modding and I was thinking of a S2+ triple and an M1 quad.

Work in progress. Probably getting that 4-mode SST40 driver if nothing better comes along.

I searched, and can’t find them. Am looking for 10 spacers, do you know if they could do that many?

If you want an ORANGE glow gasket, then it looks like this is the only place that sells them currently:
Niwalkerstore

Shipping is about 10$ though. Does anyone here got extra ones? Would love to buy one, but just one.

Yes, I have a spacer, but glow gasket is also super important.

Update. Found this store from AE that sells those separately:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000065193975.html

Had to use picture search.

Price for 1 is something like 10-12€. Not bad, gotta get one when sale starts.

Also got driver coming from Led4Power.com and getting host from Simon soon.

Well, Haukkeli is me. I have made few of them and I sent one for MoreLumens. It was easy, we live in the same country. So no, I’m not a big numbers manufacturer, just a dude with access to a lathe. Sorry.
