Hessmer? Is that around Bunkie? I’ve got family that still lives there and that town name sounds familiar.

Right up the road about 5 miles — Bunkie talk about a town that rolls the sidewalk up Saturday at noon —- I hadn’t been that way in around 20+ years — when my dad passed away in 07 was my first time back — other than a few big homes built on the highway was just like I remembered

Struck by lightning while hiking in the mountains. Or jumped by a mountain lion.

Lots of lightning and rain today. Take shelter under a tall tree, right? Facepalm

Have the conditions (percentage of oblivious crash causing morons) increased in the last 18 months? Seems that way to me, but I haven’t been driving much (and as a result I am a poorer driver).

You better start wearing a go pro camera 24/7 so you have an alibi.

dthrckt’s question:
“Have the conditions (percentage of oblivious crash causing morons) increased in the last 18 months?”

maybe, however i am driving more this year than the previous, so i am exposed to more of everything.
and, i am sort of out-of-practice since my driving skills somewhat degraded without use, which i also
think has happened to others as well. finally, there is actually “somewhere to go” and people are going
with the acronyms FOMO and YOLO fighting for the driver’s seat.

I've got more moles on me than I'm feeling comfortable with, and the number is concerningly growing steadily. I fear one of them might end up forcibly sending me across the river styx.

Organ donor. Never waste good parts (there must be one or two pieces left that could be of use to somebody even at my advanced age)

Ditto.

What is it called when you reverse the blame?
They turn the story around to make it seem like you are at fault, deflecting attention and blame away from them to make you feel guilty. This type of emotional manipulation is called gaslighting. … Gaslighting can come from a romantic partner, a boss, a friend, or anyone else.

Yup Sad

Cancer and heart disease are probably the two most deadly medical conditions. Not counting covid.
