Reminds me a lot of the WdtPro lights that went around for like 5-7bux a pop for a tupac. Same general shape but different knurling.
Tailcap… unanodised threads that screw into (vs onto) the battery tube? Same red switchboot, too.
These were high/low/strobe (ecch) and pretty blue. Would focus to The Bat Signal, not slightly blurred.

Not bad at 10bux for a tupac. Pretty damned solid (got one right in front of me), weighty even when empty, so a nice thickwall tube and head.
Replace the emitter for something warmer, and the driver to a nice 1-mode, and it’d be a great beater light for around the house.
3×AAA carrier, 18650 with tube, or 21700, taker yer choice. Doubt any of them have buck drivers, as they’re most likely just a series resistor to limit current.

Gateway lights, zoomies are, yes. And I remember the Defiant Thrower. Not a bad torch!
