Shiningbeam XP-G's $7 including neutral

I was at Shiningbeam.com and saw under New Arrivals that they have XP-G R5 LED's for $6.95

That's a decent price for a nice tint. 3D is right there in reddish 5000K.

I paid 16$ for an XP-G R4 5B1 neutral mounted on 10mm round board.

Yes cheap! I just ordered a neutral R4 a few days ago, but will be some time before I have a chance to test it. Hope it is a nice tint :)

so where can i nail some good 1.5 amp drivers for the new r5 bins? since they have a lower Vf than the XR-E q5. which is what i think all my drivers are intended for (1050ma DX style, and 1400ma DX style)

also to note

R5 B1

less than 7 FREE shipping, unlike shining beam!

Well, Shiningbeam has their 3-mode which is a 1.4A driver with 4 linear regulators. $5.75 (plus shipping). Doesn't stay in regulation for long at that current and it only supports 1 li-ion cell.

cool -> neutralish -> neutral -> warm

R5 1B -> R4 3D -> R4 5B1 -> Q5 7D

DX 14, 16 -> SB -> GB -> led-tech.de

If you want enough of them, you can go to Cutter Electronics too. Over $100 and you get free shipping. $7.25 apiece that way for neutrals on a 10mm square.

yea i already have the KD 1400 ma ones. thanks neways

i guess ill just have to go with those

the other thing, i wish the SB regulators for the MC-E/p7 had high low abd strobe, the 3 level light is almost useless, i either use high or low.

reason is i am almost complete with my MC-E v6 body flashlight. well its complete with the crappy regulator that came with it (.9 amps on my best 18650. lmao!)

turns out the p60 MC-E from DX DOES fit the OLDER v6 bodies they were shipping. the new ones, not so much, diff threading!

sooo my old one i bent the pill on, dont need the pill now!!!

ive got a total of 4 V6 bodies, and originally i was gonna use 3. R5, Q5 and MC-E.

now i gotta come up with ANOTHER v6 style... i should wait for the S binned XP-G lol

KD has this as "new". It is 8x7135 just like Shiningbeam's 3-mode 2.8A driver, but KD is saying it is 1.1A and is 5 modes. I believe 5 modes, but I don't see how it can be only 1.1A.

LOL that CANT be 1100 ma

thats funny tho, good catch on that sucker.

its cheaper than shining beam too

maybe ill order those for my MC-E

still, we need some 1.5 amp drivers!!!

not 1.4! (i know im anal!)

With the stars on the back, it may be possible to get other mode groups as well. It looks a little different than the Shiningbeam 8x7135 driver which doesn't have stars and the 7135's on the bottom are laid out in a circle.

If you do buy it please let us know what it delivers, as im interrested in it too.

5,99 Euros, sadly shipping is 5,90 Euros

Newbie alert, got a few questions

1 Can I run this direct on an AC/DC converter rated for 3 volts from 0.5 to 1 ampere ?.

2. Can I mount this on an aluminum sheet for heat dissipation? Are there exposed wires or conductive material underneath ?

3. how long can i run this ?, Can i run this overnight given ample heat sinking ?

1 Can I run this direct on an AC/DC converter rated for 3 volts from 0.5 to 1 ampere ?

No. The voltage you need is slightly different for every led, that's why they're current regulated. You might get lucky with a ~3.5-4V supply.

2. Can I mount this on an aluminum sheet for heat dissipation?

Sure, if it's thick enough and large enough.

3. how long can i run this ?, Can i run this overnight given ample heat sinking ?

Forever.

FYI, shining beam got rid of the neutral tint. sure enough, right before i bought one

so i got 2x 1b tints.

i wish i could find the Aurora V6 bodies cheaper lol. i love these flashlights!!!
