I bought one of the early BLF A6 Special Edition lights and think it is just about the favorite light for me. It came with an unprotected Sony 18650 and I will soon need a new battery.
Should I replace it with a protected 18650 and will the button top work in it?
Does the flashlight already have any low voltage protection built in?

If it ain’t broke… let me have a whack at it.
If the light has lvp onboard, I’d leave it (more resistance getting in the way), but if not, yeah, a nice GA might fir the bill.

Just tried it. A protected button top GA barely fits length wise. It will work, but compresses the springs to the max. It was made to use un-protected flat tops
it does have native LVP
it also steps down levels as capacity drops
ultimately it turns off
great light!
