Mostly because the AAA lights I'm comparing with. Those little AAA lights have a nice long reliable burn time, and their price is good value. I'm just wishing I could find something equally as good but that uses an AA. The AA gives more juice and really isn't that much larger in size.
$8.00 2AA old good Maglite with $4.98 NiteIZ dropin. Bright, uniform illumination, will last 40 hours or more, I do not turn it off when working w. some home projects.
The Mini-Maglite 2AA LED was on sale during the winter holidays for 50% off.
I liked it a lot -- except occasionally it'd flicker -- I think it's the mechanical contact to the battery not firm enough.
Otherwise I feel it is a very good choice -- for that holiday price.
It's now back to regular price like $18 online.
I bought an extra one (gray) for $11+ tax during the holidays; just returned it the other day to Lowe's. Otherwise could have given you an offer if you like Maglite's... .
