Keeppower P1835J or P1835U for Sofirn BLF LT1?

Hello,
I am looking for four protected 18650s for my new BLF LT1. I did some research on what I could get here locally and it seems Keeppower’s P1835J or -U is available for a fair price. Reviews look okay but still don’t know for which one of the two I should go.

The -J has a 10A discharge current and the U has 8A will it make a difference?

If not I’d probably go for the -U as it is slightly cheaper.

HKJ shows the P1835J protection tripping here at 7A once the voltage gets low:

And the U at 10 Amps:

In either case that’s FAR more amperage than you need. The LT1 draws well under one amp from each of the 4 batteries inside. They are both excellent cells and both have the well-regarded NCR18650GA underneath, so pick whichever is cheaper. The LT1 has its own internal protections so you don’t technically need these expensive cells. Pretty much any button top 18650s will work and the ones that come with it are good enough for that purpose. On the other hand extra protection isn’t a BAD thing if you can afford it.

Thank you.

I ordered the LT1 without batteries. It will be a present and I wanted to make it as safe to use as possible, so I wanted protected cells.

If they don’t own a lithium ion charger or other 18650 lights/batteries, protected cells are pointless
