amazing colours but… proprietary battery and proprietary charger sucks.

It’s so lame that Acebeam does this that I cannot defend it. Acebeam it’s not a vulgar brand, don’t behave like one.

I don’t see a way to integrate usb c while maintaining the locking and multi switch functions in a single connector, so the proprietary design actually makes sense.

You need to look at this from a consumer’s perspective (like a law enforcement officer, military). They don’t care about proprietary batteries and charging. This is meant to go on a weapon and light up targets or as a duty light, not take on a walk at night. It’s purpose built. Proprietary batteries are a safety feature and ensures lights meet factory specs. Yah, annoying for an enthusiast, but most buyers won’t care.

Clip design is a bit strange. Clearly designed more for looks rather than function.

  • It appears to be a VERY long clip. Except that the useful portion of the clip is only the bottom half. Result is a clip that looks like it ought to be deep carry, but is anything but.
  • The decorative bit sticking out from the back of the clip near the switch looks like it would get caught on things if the light is carried inside a pocket. This detracts from its ability to be quickly removed from a pocket.

This is primarily a WML that can be pocket carried. The clip is sort of a dual-purpose M-LOK/Picatinny mounting solution. Again, I have a couple Odins and they are mainly for weapon duty with the added benefit you can pocket carry them.

An “almost” from me. Compact and throwy – tick! One touch constant frequency strobe – tick! Remote pressure switch – tick! Fits in most light painting connectors – tick! Brightest memorised mode – 600 lumens – oh no!!

The highest memorised mode really needs to be higher at around 1000-1200 lumens.

Acebeam New P15 is an innovative work in the EDC tactical field, which can quickly switch between EDC and tactical light.
Remove the back clip and mount with Pic Mount or MLOK to become the tactical light.
Multi-functional port is compatible with charging battery, installing the remote tail switch control or One-Touch-Strobe switch.

Acebeam’s other lights aimed at a similar market (L series, T36, EC35 II) use a double-wall battery tube with a leaf spring on each end. While some double-wall designs like the FW3A haven’t been entirely reliable, Acebeam’s approach has worked great.

I only own 2 Acebeam lights, and I’ve never taken either of them apart. What’s their general stance on potting? Does anybody know if the P15 is potted, or otherwise sturdy and shock resistant?

I have taken several Acebeam lights apart; they were not potted. I have dropped some Acebeam lights; they kept working.
