Few days ago I forgot to unscrew the battery cover before putting my Panda 3 in my pocket. Some time later I felt it burning in my pocket. it was so hot I was not able to touch it for few minuets after turn it off and it melt the rubber band.
I could not find any info on thermal protection but based on the results I would say it does not have protection. am I right?

Does YLP Panda3 have thermal protection
Panda 3 has thermal protection only in Hi mode. And lowest flux is 30% of Hi. With good thermal isolation 30% is enough to heat up to melting of TIR optics. [Actually a lot of flashlight with thermal control have this problem.)
BTW.It was fixed in panda 4.
Thanks, maybe they release FW for the panda 3
