Aliexpress no longer Shipping LED Lights to Japan?

My last three orders were terminated (two of them as having a "security" issue) and my current two orders are awaiting shipping for over a week.

I guess that few members of these forums are resident in Japan. But, if anyone else has had the same problem please let me know.

USA here, but if there isn’t anything bigger at hand, it could just be the now-normal flight delays. I had several that went on bizarre journeys before they finally got airborne. I learned from talking to a rep at China Post that “security” or “safety” returns don’t necessarily mean what we think they would. There are lots of reasons but it could simply be that there are not enough parcels to fill a flight, or that there isn’t a flight yet available…or it could mean that just one package in a container had an item in it that was a security/safety risk, so the entire container of packages gets returned to the previous step and waits again for an opportunity to get loaded on the plane. And there are still staffing problems here and there due to covid.

I just had one package (ring magnets from Convoy) actually get flagged as “contraband”….and actually got returned alllll the way to Simon who signed for the returned package. That was strange. Refunded and reordered the same from him, hopefully it makes it through this time.

Fulfillment times seem to be back to normal as far as seller-to-carrier, so that’s good.

If there’s something else going on with Japan, hopefully someone else knows and can help you better.

Yes! You are right. I spoke too soon. Both my (one 18650) LED light orders are now awaiting delivery (i.e. they have been shipped) rather than "awaiting shipment".

Sorry. <(_ _)>

Japan has serious penalties for overseas shipping anything with lithium batteries—or it seems even using those words.

i ordered a charger and the shipment was cancelled because it was listed as a lithium battery charger. Expensive mess to clear up.
