Time for the yearly tradition:
What was your coolest / nicest / best flashlight(s) of 2021?
(I'm a bit early, I know)
What was your favorite of 2021? You have 2 months to decide
Can be in any category. Multiple categories are also fine.
Can you please name the Full Name of the flashlight? And not just TK16
Fenix TK16 instead of TK16 (there are 2 brands using that same product name)
(PLEASE ONLY LIGHTS YOU GOT IN 2021)
Always fun to look back at past years' favorites as well..

The BLF GT with SFT40 (2300lm, 2700m+ @ 30 seconds!)
https://budgetlightforum.com/node/79561
I would like to nominate Convoy L7
Emisar DT8.
I feel sorry for people who don't have a hobby or interest to escape to.
I would like to nominate the Convoy T2/T3 and the M21B with the GT-FC40 emitter.
The T2/T3’s are just about perfect if you EDC an AA/14500 light. Decent output, no PWM, great build and very simple. The T2 does have a slightly tight battery tube and will not fit the fattest AA NiMH and 14500 cells. This was addressed in the T3.
The M21B with the GT-FC40 very simply fits in a pocket, offers hi cri at 4500k and 5500k and 3000 plus lumens with a good 21700. It also has great hand fit, for my small hands this is perfect. I also own the S11 with the same emitter and it just does not fit the hand as well and it is a little slick, have dropped mine a couple of times.
I know that neither of these lights are ground breaking, but they really are must have lights and the price point to functionality and price point to reliability are simply amazing! Plus the awesome service Simon provides seals the deal for me. After having a driver failure in my S11 and having the driver shipped out quickly to me… just can’t say enough. No, a drop did not break it!
EDC rotation:
KR4, SST-20 FA3 4000k (favorite!)
FW3A, Nichia 4000k sw40 r9080 (second favorite)
FW1A, LH351D 3500k (third favorite)
FW1A, XP-L Hi 3A
FW3A, LH351D 3500k
FW3A, SST20 FD2 4000k
FW3A, Cree XP-L Hi 5A3
Emisar D4V2, SST20 4000k
Emisar D4V2, brass E21A 3500k (night light of choice)
Convoy M26c. Simple 4 mode, no frills. Built like a tank. The SST40, and I installed a 1/8th minus green filter. Good combo of throw and spill
Well with any luck I find me an even better one or even more favorite one this year but so far:
Sofirn IF22A (pocket thrower)
trustfire minix – rectangular tiny light with UV, even though i hate the UI – i do like em small

My most impressive stock lights of 2021:
Fireflies PL47mu, with Nichia 219B emitters. There are a few others I bought that I also really enjoy, but this was my first mule and I’ve just had a blast with it. So useful for nighttime area tasks.
I would have said Sofirn BLF LT1, but it’s a couple years old at this point. I got an earlier version with no power bank feature. Works beautifully and so incredibly useful. Plus it’s enjoyable to shift the tint from time to time. This was really a major milestone line in terms of community collaboration with a manufacturer. Sad that things kind of went off the rails a bit with the maker changing hardware internals. But the LT1 really rules the lantern space. It’s going to be interesting to see how the LT1 mini turns out.
Micro EDC: RovyVon Aurora A5. The new A5 is a full 200 mAh more capable than the old version. No visible PWM! The larger form factor is nice, making it easier to manipulate and keep track. It’s so nicely done. So useful. I was outside and the outdoor light blew. It was dark. Of course, I had a few flashlights on me… but I took out my A5, clipped it to my shirt, then turned on the side white emitters. Wonderful hands-free illumination on the fly.
Main EDC: Lumintop FWAA in copper. It has unseated my FW3A. I just love the look, feel, and performance of this flashlight. A 14500 cell is so nicely pants pocket portable.
Fenix TK30
4×18a SBT90.2
One of the most budget-friendly SBT90.2 options so you can light up the countryside, but Simon doesn’t cheap out on build-quality. Feels solid and weighty in the hand, and USB-C charging is appreciated in a 4-cell light like this.
My Lights (Updated: June 20, 2021)
I would like to join *darosk *in endorsing the nomination of Convoy 4×18a SBT 90.2.
I like it so much that I have bought the second one for my daughter, together with a set of four colour lens from Astrolux (FT03). They fit nicely on the powerful Convoy.
I agree as well although I think the 3×21 has a slight advantage.
Bought one light in 2021
But a 2020 Black Friday light showed up in 2021 so i am counting it

I can’t believe 2021 is leaving us!
How time flies!
When 2020 came, I thought it was a year only in science fiction movie. But now even 2022 is coming.
I hope we all have a better life next year.

I bought a bunch of Eagletac D25LC2 rear clicky with Nichia’s in them. Great tube light. A bit pricey though. Love the size and UI compared to some other budget tubes.
Wait, that may not be a 2021 light. Hell, I don’t know.
Maybe I didn’t buy a 2021 light.
Does a Reylight Mini Pineapple count? I like those. The Aluminum ones are great.

Lumintop FWAA
Wurkkos TS21 V2
Anduril 2, decent LED choice, 21700, magnet, good size for around 30 bucks. Hiyaaaaaaa. Perfect intro light into more advanced enthusiasts lights right now.
Sofirn IF22A! Kind of edcing that one!

Wow, that’s very budget friendly flashlight. Is ramping implemented well?
Yes, I’ll put out a review of my Chinese flashlights at some point. You triple click while off to switch to ramping and hold to go up/down. In the non-ramping mode it’s 3 level along with double click to turbo, the only downside is that you hold to turn off in non-ramping mode.
Triple click while on for strobe and SOS, and 5 second hold from off is lockout. That’s the full UI but satisfies 95% of all needs.
