Thanks ___!

I thought I might start a thread about showing appreciation to others on the forum. If someone helped you, did a giveaway, made you laugh, etc., and you want to give them an extra round of applause and some public appreciation, post here. Echo someone else’s appreciation for an individual and/or suggest your own. I don’t know if there is a good way to alert individuals who are mentioned here or not. But it might be nice for others to see that they are mentioned and appreciated. This may not be the best format but it was the best I could think of. Anyway, I’ll start us off with two:

Thanks SB56637! I’m very appreciative of your work creating and maintaining this space. Thanks for all your administrative work! Thank you for working to make this place friendly, safe, and accessible. Thank you for your patience and dedication.

Thanks Simon! I’m thankful for Simon from Convoy. He spends a lot of time answering people’s questions and being patient with lots of demands from us here at BLF. His time here is much appreciated.

Number one thanks for me would go out to our great member HKJ for doing tireless tests on Batteries and Chargers among other items.
There are many of us here who will not buy a new charger or battery until he gives the thumbs up.
His tests are through and uniform and most of all trustworthy.

Even though I may not always understand the tech gibberish he explains it to why it is relevant and that is really all that matters.
Good thread!

Later,
Keith

To all the electrical techs and programming wizzes that provide free advice and education and awesome contributions to us flashaholics.
To SB for providing a great place to hangout. :+1:

Thanks so much to Superstocker for this kind and encouraging thread. Made my day!

Huge +1

And also, many thanks to the entire community for being vigilant with marking spam posts. It would be impossible for me to monitor and remove all the junk that gets through, even with all the anti-spam measures that we already have in place. But thanks to the BLF community it’s kept at bay.

Thanks to everyone that takes the time and effort to make reviews. Always useful when evaluating a potential purchase!

Bought a few beauties and avoided a few lemons!

Starting from ground zero a few months ago, have learned tons of good stuff (even understand some of it  ). Further thanks to everyone that posts good information.

thanks xevious.
random act of
kindness?

+ 1 for Simon!

I’m sure he is extremely busy developing new torches and managing his business.

Yet he still makes time to answer all our questions and provides top notch customer service. Such dedication!

Thank you Simon

Thanks to Ali X for being solid as a rock in the waters with fishes coming and leaving!

Thank you specifically to CRX for inspiring me to build things with simple hand tools. I don’t have nearly the skills or attention to detail, but I know now that I don’t need to burn money buying tools - just be creative, patient, and actually do it. There’s also a long list of modders who really lead the way with modding: lights others haven’t cracked yet, hotter hotrods than anyone else, etc. To name a few, contactcr, moderator007, x3, DB Custom, Tom E - and many more. Quite a long list. I am not one of the leaders in modding, and I look up to those who pave the way.

Thank you to ToyKeeper, Tom E, and gchart specifically for your efforts with firmware and driver related projects. There are many other names that should be here alongside them, but my memory is bad and the list would be long. Tom E, also for inspiring me to swap drivers on things I’d never have considered it before. And for providing driver designs: Texas Ace, gchart, del (before my time), thefreeman, loneocean, Quadrupel, and others.

Thanks to our community vendors. Mtn Electonics, LED4Power, Eurekatronix, Kaidomain, and others on the components side - Simon/Convoy, Hank/intl-outdoor (Noctigon/Emisar), and others on the manufacturer side. Illumn, Killzone, etc. on the reseller side. The hobby wouldn’t work without places to buy what we need… and what we want.

Thank you to anyone who ever broke anything or just shared the struggles of modding. Sometimes we only talk about the successes and the pretty finished products and not about the driver’s we’ve toasted or the LEDs we damaged. It humanizes the experience and helps reassure not just the beginners but the average modders who wonder “does everyone else have this much trouble or am I just bad at this?”

And last but definitely not least, thanks Mr. Admin. Without BLF, where would we be?

I’d like to thank HKJ for all his hard work testing cells and equipment. It has saved me from wasting money, potentially getting hurt with garbage cells, and taught me a lot about cells and how they work! Much appreciated!

I found an old video in the attic the other day. It’s called “Thanks For The Mammaries” lol.

Thanks to raccoon city.

I love all of your posts, be it greetings to newcomers, flashlights thoughts, gardening plans, whatever…

Just piling on, but I’m grateful to HKJ for battery and charger reviews. I don’t need any other reviews now for those items.

And ToyKeeper. I think we’re just beginning to see the effects of high quality, modular, customizable, featureful open source flashlight firmware. I suspect even more exciting things are to come.

And, of course, Mr. Admin.

Oh, wait, someone on my staff just told me Thanksgiving is this month in the US.

Like Steve Martin, I am thankful that there’s no such thing as a rectal barometer, and small children don’t burst into flames when I say the number “Four.”

Thanks to Old Lumens —— For being one of the True Pioneers to Flashlight Modding —- You are missed

Thanks HKJ for everything that you do.

I've never had someone upset with me for not providing free tech support, though not everyone likes me either.

I’d like to thank Maukka, Texas Ace, and Djozz for all of their LED testing. I have used those charts countless times. Thank you so much for doing all of that leg work for us.

Thank You “sb56637” for everything you do for keeping this forum going strong and free. You work behind the scenes keeping order and fairness healthy and nudging members along patiently to do better.
