As the title states I’ve lost my long time c8 I bought from mtnelectronics years ago. I take it when we travel/camp and when I need to shine the back yard to see if ours pups are behaving when they’re out at night.
I’m pretty out of the loop on whats good but I absolutely loved my xintd with the glass lens. Any help finding a suitable replacement. doesnt need to be a small light as it’s not a edc light and never carried on person in that way.

There are soooooooooooooo many C8-like lights out there it’s really not funny.
You want throwy with a FC switch, try the original P30. Want “updated” C8s, there’s the C8+, etc. Want a sideclicky triple-emitter C8, there’s the C8F.
Narrow down your wishlist first.
So side or rear button I could go with either. My old one had lo-med-hi modes and if you just lightly pushed the button it would turn on but off as soon as you released it, seems silly but it was really handy. I like the look of the C8F I”m going to look into that one thank you.

I think I’ll look for a long thrower too to easily see down into the back pasture from the deck. I also ended up ordering a sc31t from Amazon too to replace my small generic led light.
After I went to grab my extended tube c8 I kept as a backup and it didn’t work and I was left with my craptastic small edc light it’s time to get some new lights.
I got practically every incarnation of the C8F from the original with XP-Gs (surprisingly throwy due to the smaller G chip), through the 21700 version with side+tail switches. Nice light, pretty good wide beam for moderate distances, lots of output.
The C8T is more of a thrower, whereas the C8A has more output but isn’t as throwy. Yeah, got both.
A really nice thrower is the (Anekim) UC20 that comes in PC green and white. The PC (phosphor-converted) green is designed as a “hunting” light so you can sneak up on critters that don’t see green, but the white is a hella nice tight beam with lots of reach, kind of a “LEP-lite”. I was pretty wowed how far it threw on trees over on the next block. All the Anekims have that CSI.NY emitter (even the green!), not the usual Crees.
The IF22A (with the TIR lens) is also a hella nice thrower with lots of oomf.
Check your wife’s purse. I lost mine for almost a year, eventually it turned up in one of her old purses that was sitting in the bottom of our closet. Was a happy day, it’s still one of my favorite lights and one of my first custom projects.

Funny you say that I had a Fenix pen light a few years ago that I used a lot when building PC’s and my wife would take it all the time so I took it one day and hid it so she would stop taking it and leaving it around. To this day I’ve still not found where I hid it.
