So, the MCU-C88 is no longer available? Why would they stop production of a light like this?

It's on backorder since one week or so. Well, I guess I will find out soon, if they are out of stock now.
+1. I keep thinking "WTF?" that was a great 3 x AA light. With so few of these around and apparently a pretty good following on BLF and CPF, why would they stop manufacturing them??
According to HKE production was indeed stopped on this model. Maybe the cost of manufacturing this fine piece of light wasn't cost effective for what they could get for it. Only Ultrafire knows for sure and they haven't spoken up. Maybe they will get the hint and restart production but we are really only a tiny piece of the market and probably not worth the tooling and effort. 
There are still some pieces on eBay (expensive at 52$) and TaoBao (at BestInOne's seller there, not sure if they actually have any in stock), and Ultrafire's shop allows to buy it so maybe they some in stock.
Missed it because I wasn't online last night... I would love to order one of these (for myself, sure that too) for a friend of mine who needs a flashlight, but I wouldn't quite trust with 18650s. The C88 would have been a good choice for him, and I would have jumped on this offer. 
A little birdie overseas told me that we could get another run made....minimum order 300.
How much for 1 piece shipped?
Still a big investment to be made. Figure $6k @ $20/pc at least.

Good guess. Since it was such a short run, price per piece was closer to $28 plus a couple hundred for shipping...figure right at $30/ea, shipped to me.

Wouldn't you also get hit for import taxes? It's not as if 300 of them would be for "personal use".
