Looking for a more budget minded 18650 light with form factor like the Emisar D4V2. Doesn’t need to be multi-led, I just like the side clicky mounted on the squarish face as it is easy to quickly reach in my pocket and my fingers orient on the clicky. Let’s call it $30 or under. Suggestions? Ramping or modes fine.
Any side switch light can be modified to draw your finger to the switch. Make a ring of wire the proper diameter and glue it around the button. Washers can also be used if you can find the proper size. Just about every side button light I own has been modified like this including the Wowtac
A6.
Ok. The only ones I have used were for smaller screws. I used them for installing my kitchen cabinets. Never saw large ones. Do you hold them against a grinding wheel?
Bigger ones are available. Large enough for even a D4V2 switch.
I grind them by hand. I use 3M indoor safetway walk tape. Basically sticky grey rubber grip tape. Cut a square of it and stick it on the top of the washer. Then I just grind it back and forth across a large file sitting on a desk.
The brass is pretty soft, so it doesn’t take too long to grind down. And doing it by hand allows very precise grinding while minimizing the chance the nickel plating chips off.
Thanks for the tips. My next trip to HD I will pick some up and give them a try. They definitely will give a more refined appearance. More lights should come through stock this way. It makes the switch so much easier to find by feel and no pocket activations, win-win.
