Sofirn warranty claim experience

I’d like to share my experience dealing with a Sofirn warranty claim. I’m not going to get into what product had the issue, as all good companies have issues here and there. I made an order through amazon and when the product showed up, there was a issue with it. I contacted Sofirn directly through their website (not sure if this was the right way to deal with it) and got a response back a day later asking for my order number and was advised the Sofirn rep would be in contact.

The same day the rep contacted me asking what the issue was. I told the rep and they agreed there was a issue and would take care of it. 1 day later the rep contacted me to let me know a replacement was on the way and gave me the tracking number.

One of my rules of doing business is, I always contact a company and ask them product questions before a purchase. If a company will not support you before a sale, they’re not going to support you after the sale. Sofirn has passed both these tests now.

I was completely blown away by the customer service provided by Sofirn. The communication and turn around time was outstanding. You can truly tell they’re professionals and care about their customers. As someone who’s dealt with nightmare warranty claims before, this was a 2 thumbs up experience.

Same thing have happened to me, one of my SC21’s dies. A quick chat and bam, a new flashlight on the way. Really pleased with how they handle their reclaims.

You mentioned one, but most so-called “A-brands” have appalling warranty habits.
What’s even worse, when you apply for warranty, the standard excuse is that you purchased that particular item from a seller that was not approved by them. Now comes the good bit: upon asking what sellers they approve, things suddenly get very blurry, or very silent. For most brands warranties are a thing of beauty, as long as it is confined to the paper it is printed on.

What did strike me was that Sofirn jumped in. As a rule, the seller has to deliver the warranty for the light. Because you payed him, you did not pay Sofirn. And even if the seller wants to limit the warranty time to the same duration as the manufacturer does, EU law stipulates that certain appliances have a certain expected lifespan, and that under normal conditions (of usage) the seller can be held accountable for that extended lifespan.

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.

I have a few Sofirn lights and never had an issue. They might be the best budget brand going and knowing they have excellent customer service just adds even more to the value.

Agreed … one of the best manufacturers out there.

I have a few Sofirns myself, have given a few as gifts, and have a few more on the way. Haven’t had a dud yet.

I have a SP10 that came with a bad lens and Sofirn sent me a new head when I mentioned it to them. I have confidence in them making good on defective products whereas with other flashlight companies I assume the complete opposite.

Got a bunch of Sofirn flashlights and lanterns. Have been happy with all of them. I use the SP40 and SP32 daily. No problem so far but I am happy to hear that they stand behind their product.

+1 happy with Sofirn’s products and CS – note that I’ve only dealt with them directly (here, AliX, or their Amazon store).
