Hey guys. My trusty Fenix TK35 has finally died after a decade of use so I figured I'd get a new light. After buying not just one but eleven flashlights this past week to replace it, I've come to the realization that I'm an addict.
The light turns on but the output is extremely low, equivalent to a small Lumintop light (FW1A, FW3A, FW4A, etc) ramped all the way down to the lowest setting.
I didn't realize that. A little too late to turn back at this point. I've already ordered a few small Lumintop lights, some garbage lights from Amazon, an Imalent R60C, then went a little overboard and ordered an Imalent MS18. I think I have all scenarios covered.
You just need to have self discipline like me. I haven’t bought a single flashlight in 9 days and will not be buying any in the foreseeable future. This time I really mean it.
Obviously I got a little carried away, but I think I'm done. Purchased a Lumintop FW1A and two FW4A's (different color temps) to see if I wanted a little throw light (like the Fenix TK35) or something floody with more output. I think I like the FW4A a little better. But then the R60C just completely out classed both of them in every way imaginable other than size. There's too big of a gap in performance so I ordered three FW21 Pro's (one for myself, two as gifts) to have a tiny light that is a little closer in output to the R60C. And then for a large, brute force light, I just decided to go with the king of the flooders and ordered the MS18. The 6 cheap Amazon lights are all trash unfortunately and will most likely be given away or will be test beds for modification.
So for a tiny, any jacket or pants pocket EDC light = FW21 Pro
For the largest pop-can light that I can fit in my back jean's pocket = R60C
