Aliexpress sent me my new K80, but didn’t include the 26980 battery. I can’t find any local for sale, or from the usual vendors, and I don’t see that any adapters exist. Guess I’m waiting 20-ish days to power up my light??!!
The listing I purchased my K80 from did not include a battery with the light.
It didn’t have an option to include one.
what is k80 light?
I’d be making a spacer so a 26650 would work —- piece of Aluminum / wood dowel with a bolt through it — something will work
No tailswitch, just a spring in the tailcap? Wad up a big-ass piece of Al foil, and stick a 26650 in there.
Now you’re talking —
Very strange that there is no option to include a 26800 or 26980 cell. Too difficult to find such uncommon batteries. I will pass.
The extra resistance from a spacer, magnet, or etc (might be insignificent but…) that big would bother me, kind of an OCD thing I guess. Personally I’d put it aside and intensify my hunt for a suitable cell. That’s just me. Perhaps the seller could give you a reference.
If had a proper cell coming in 20 days I’d wait as I’d want my first impressions or tests to be done with it.
Every one tries to make this stuff Rocket Science — It’s not ——- The whole tube is made of aluminum — so why would a good spacer add more resistance than is already there —most being in the springs —unless bypassed
26980 vs 26650 = 33mm of extra space you have to make up = metal plug/foil/etc = another connection = resistance.
Ohms law brother
Yet — Maybe a 26650 might have less resistance than a 26980 —— Then depending on the lights driver / springs etc —— all this won’t make one bit of difference
Good call!
Am totally unfamiliar with the 26980 as far as what real world capacity/power they bring to the table.
Hate adding another size group to the collection.
Yep — and another charger as well —- I’d be figuring out how to use 21700 cells —-
You could get a 26mm round piece of wood, cut it to size and add a copper bolt screwed in the center for low resistance electrical conduction.
