I saw this build on reddit and wanted to do something similar. I'm planning on using the 5A driver from Convoy. What kind of led would be ideal for this setup? The op on reddit use a 219b.I'm not overly bother about high CRI but I don't want 6000k either. I know it'll get hot quickly but it's going to be more a show light than anything.
Have you thought about Samsung LH351D 5700K 90 CRI?
BTW, which host is this, if I may ask? One of those stainless steel lights or Ti?

For anyone who wants to know, its the Yupard Q5 series hosts, the stock driver emitter and tailswitch are trash. Just search that on AliX and you’ll find it. Its $11, definitely a winner. Does require some grinding inside the pill to make a 17mm driver fit

I’d vote for the LH351D as well but at that current an SST20 would also be very nice. That’ll be a little toaster! If there’s space, I might recommend some of the thermal silicone blocks tucked above the driver to help a little. I don’t know if it’s the same one or not but I had something very similar maybe ten years ago…dropped from the bumper of the car and was run over by who knows how many cars. When I went back and found it, it had been ovalized so badly that it went into the recycling bin…battery didn’t flame out, amazingly, but it was squished and had vented.
