Sofirn Q8 Pro Flashlight Review

Sofirn Q8 Pro Flashlight Review

The Sofirn Q8 Pro flashlight uses four 18650 cells and has four Cree XHP50.2 emitters. The e-switch has an indicating feature, too! Read on!

Short Review

This Q8 Pro is a worthy update to the original Sofirn Q8 (which I also reviewed). The output is quite a bit higher and we see Andúril instead of Narsil (which is really just a personal preference you have to make). I’m very pleased Sofirn has a 5000K and that’s what I received. I hope you can figure out how to order that one too.

All my Sofirn reviews!

^ Measurement disclaimer: I am an amateur flashlight reviewer. I don’t have $10,000 or even $1,000 worth of testing equipment. I test output and such in PVC tubes!! Please consider claims within 10% of what I measure to be perfectly reasonable (accurate, even).

There's more at my site, including runtimes and all that other good stuff. Head over there if you're willing, and if the table above doesn't satisfy your need for data.

2H from off for momentary turbo is a nice quality of life upgrade in Anduril 2. Seems like better use of the prime real estate that is ‘2H from off’ (instead of ramping down from the top, like in Anduril 1).

Do you happen to know, in stepped ramping, which level corresponds with around 3000-3500 lumens? That seems to be where it settles into its groove.

Sorry I realized this part of my table was incomplete. I’ve added that info. Looks like level 6 of the stepped is around 2700 lumens. (On the table this is recorded as “7” but the count includes the lowest mode, which is in the ramping group.) So essentially this is the next mode down from what runtime graphs I have included, and thus the “third highest” mode.

Does that answer the question adequately? I feel like I’m leaving something out here.

Thanks!
