Some interesting Emisar DT8 layouts

Emisar DT8 is my absolute favorite EDC light ever since I discovered its existence. IMHO if you haven’t tried one, you should.

Figured I’d share some unique emitter/optics layout here.

I wanted to pick one up since I saw it.

I wish it was 21700. There’s also too much options. I could make like five different versions that I would like to try out. It’s hart to pick just one lol

That’s the setup in the last picture? I never seen it.
Can you specify to Hank the layout of dual channel version?
For instance if you want 4+4, or top and bottom row, alternating etc.

I wish there were 21700 and 26800, scaled head appropriately, i’d buy both.

I’d buy some as gifts for normies if it had usb charging. Totally understand Hank has to make what sells though, and too many niches would lose him money.

I have 1 DT8 with the SST-20 4000k 95cri emitters and so far it is my favorite light. However, I’m thinking of getting a cool white version with one of these emitters:
SST-20 6500K
XP-L HI V3 1A 6500K
W2 6000K CSLPM1.TG

Still haven’t made up my mind which one yet. Leaning towards the W2 for the additional throw.

Emisar needs a new 21700 lineup.

A flashlight chat group I’m in recently had a brief conversation as to why do Hank make it in 18650. The conclusion basically is if it’s any bigger, it becomes vastly less practical for where Hank and half of his customers live. I for one is interested in DT8 only because it carries as stealthy as a D4v2, which means I can carry it without anyone knowing me having a light on me even in summer and no backpacks.

I’ve lived in upstate NY for a while in the past, and if I go back yeah I’d have a 26800 light always in my glove box. But for now, for the kind of environment Hank (and I and a lot of people) lives, open carrying a powerful flashlight wherever we go just makes people think us weirdos.

Those optics look unique, you must have done them yourself.
The first one must really blend the beam what is it?
The mule looks serious is that done by Hank?

That insane mule is an image I saw in a chat group. I don’t know where it comes from nor how it performs.

The CT blend is an experiment to see whether mixed E21a would give better color rendition than single CT E21a. (No it doesn’t. But if you want a more red tint you can try it since the resulting tint would drop below the BBL line)

The mixed optics I think you can order one like that from Hank if you want. The owner also slapped some D-C-Fix on the clear half only. The result is a buttery smooth and flat transition between hotspot and outer flood. Honestly it’s the most perfect indoor illumination tool I’ve ever seen. Very wide beam overall, very wide hotspot, most importantly very consistent brightness between far center and closer side objects. The reason for D-C-Fix only on the clear half is if you DCFix the whole glass, the floody part becomes too spread out and weak, negating the smooth transition.

I have E21a 2000k and E21 5000k and it is awesome.I am still learning Anduril II and being careful.
Set up now is low is all 2000k and beautiful. As I ramp up the tint changes from golden sunrise to 5000k at max and I like it like that.

That is a Vinh54 mod. Those are XHP50.2, and I was very tempted to buy it, but I hesitated and someone else got it. If I recall correctly, turn on lumens were around 10,000 lumens.

That’s Vinhnguyen54’s double mule creation. ONE-OFF DT8vn13K Fiat Lux - Brightest 18650 Light - Sky Lumen DT8vn13K - Brightest Single 18650 Light - YouTube He uses those 7-XHP50.2 boards also for P60 mules. P60vn Light Engines - As You Like R - Sky Lumen

Doesn’t the foil melt?

What foil?

If you’re talking about the mule build I’ve no idea. Never saw it in action lol.

If you’re talking about D-C-Fix, no it doesn’t melt. It handles heat exceptionally well. I guess that’s why it’s so popular in BLF.

Yes, D-C-Fix. Foil, vinyl or whatever it is.

I saw it in pictures but I thought it’s a type of glass.

Love seeing how BLF members have modified this already excellent light!

That’s one VERY interesting diffuser. I never thought there’d be any diffuser that fits DT8.

May I know what it is?

That bezel desperately needs finishing work.

Here you go  (link)

Yes that is it!
It fits perfectly but it does require a little tweaking.
Gently heat the 4 plastic arms one at a time and push them in and cool. The goal here is to reduce the diameter by about 10%,then the arms will lock in to the groove above the knurling.
The bulb portion is a little loose and might require a little thermal tweaking to make it fit snugly.
