Has anyone here tried his mod of this new light? Lumen1 gave the un-modded light a poor review, so I'm nervous about getting one. Does Vinh's mod fix the problems reported by Lumen1?
I’m not sure Marco (owner of 1Lumen) did a thermal calibration, i know he is not fond of Narsil and Anduril and that explains the 2 stars.
The light is great, but the thermal control is a bit difficult with Narsil.
you can disable it though, Matt from adventuresportsflashlights did (see video)
He measured over 20K Lumens after 10 minutes, instead of 365 Lumens.
So do not let your decision depend based on just 1 review, they might be biased.

Should perform much better then 1Lumens review when it uses other thermal settings.
Pay big $$$ for unnoticeable gain. Booom, another caught.
True sp5it, Vinh delivers great work, but big $’s and heavily overrated.
But as long as people pay for it, it’s clever business.
Back in 2010-2012 there weren’t many lights that over performed —Vinh modded lights and gave us things we couldn’t buy — I think between Vinh and the people modding lights on BLF have made manufactures produce these high output lights — Now a days I say buy them stock for a lot less money
